New site? Maybe some day.

for anyone who appreciates Nile for what Nile does, you'll dig this. its basically an extension of AotW, which isn't a bad thing. unfortunately it doesnt have the grabbing power that AotW had due to how different it was from In Their Darkened Shrines, however the album is really good, well put together, overall a good listening experience. it also isn't just a rehashing of AotW, the guitar work is chock full of new, awesome riffs. i give this an 8.
highlights: Eat of the Dead, Even the Gods Must Die |

the only song I can appreciate on this album...
"Papyrus Containing the Spell to Preserve Its Possessor Against Attacks From He Who Is in the Water"
for some reason, everytime they go into a blast beat, I get bored. |
|
i feel sorry for my fancy Nile digipak that i bought the other day, because now that i got this here new Deathspell Omega... don't think I'll be listening to much else for a while (except for the Old Wainds "Scalding Coldness" CD that I got with my DsO order... it's so fucking suave) |

DEATHSPELL - 6 minutes into the second track. sit back, attempt to process it and then say "thank you" |

Who, Pete? He left because of his health. Something about his back or arms.
When I first heard the track they released (the one with the long title) I had high hopes for the rest of the album...but I couldn't listen to any of the songs all the way through. |

Fo some reason, everytime i hear Nile i get bored. So overrated, first record wasn't so bad (the one on Relapse, not their first cd which really was crap too), but jeeeeesh, people really seem to dig the same sound record after record. I think if i heard each record one after the other, all in a row, i think me would go crazeee. |
|
Nile doesn't bore me. i get a big kick out of them. i could listen to George Kollias pound his drums all day. |
|
I think I have listened to this once since I got it. Bores the hell out of me |
|
i hope Karl Sanders is gonna put out another album like Saurian (Sp?) Meditation at some point. that was some good listenin. |
|
i pulled this album out recently, i haven't paid attention to it in years, and i stand by my original thoughts. i even like it more, it really is a killer album, it just takes some time to sink in.
other standouts: Ithyphallic, Laying Fire Upon Apep |
