So what things, mostly music, that you listen to or do that would be kinda embarrassing to admit.

as for music: I love the white stripes, random Arabic music, and even the occasional traditional spanish music.

as for embarrassing things... I still love watching old wrestling matches from late 80's early 90's

I'll come right out and say it: I can sit down and listen to Demon Burger. New or old. It's so far away from real black metal that it's completely inoffensive to me, and I like the soundtrack metal thing. *USER WAS KICKED OUT OF THE SCENE FOR THIS POST*

ok ill admit it.....

Dimmu borgir is good, I don't get why people get so ornery, I sometimes...very very rarely will even give older cradle of filth cds a spin, I still think the dude is an awesome lyricists.

I don't understand being embarassed so much, but I know I love a lot of music that most of this board would consider "gay". Jamiroquai is one of my favorite bands. I consider The Zombies' Odysee and Oracle to be a perfect album. I think Devendra Banhart is pretty great most of the time. I listen to a shitload of rap. Neil Young and Jimi Hendrix > all metal. I've been listening to Kris Kristofferson more than anything for a few weeks. I love Fiona Apple. I could spit the gay for days.

If nothing else, it's got Nick Barker - you can't go too far wrong there.

That's just goddamn weird.

Lesse... Other that punk stuff that would get me ragged on here, but shames me none... Peter Paul and Mary. I'm a sucker for 60's folk crap; blame my parents. I fucking hated it as a kid, but now it makes me smile like a tard. Also "first-wave" shit like Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly and The Weavers. HUGE Pete Seeger fan.

I dunno, the only thing I know about that band is conveyor belts and giant fuzzy hats... I can't honestly say I've even heard a single note of their music. So therefore I'm more that qualified to judge that that's "goddamn weird." Obviously.

Hahaha

They are actually still pretty huge in the UK, but I guess most Americans only know "the fuzzy tophat/conveyor belt" song. The first 3 albums are pretty great if you're into the acid jazz/whatever one calls that shit type stuff.

I'll go out on a limb; for a (former) radio commodity, Live are a pretty solid rock band. The drummer excels. Plus, as Beavis & Butt-Head pointed out, the guy looks like a skinny Rollins.

No way man. I am a stoner... and this shit has massive groove. Tim Mahoney wrote killer riffs and Chad Sexton is one of the sickest drummers out there.

Grudging acceptance that you may have a point, but it still makes my skin crawl. To each their own.

Blood for Blood. For about three days a year, and then it annoys me too much. FUN FACT: I did, however, get a blowjob on Buddha's porch. Good times.

He used to wear a way cooler hat than that (before the converyor belts). He also used to say "I'm Jay Kay from Jamiroquai" rather than "I'm Jamiroquai". They weren't always a disco band either.

Elton John's about all I get ragged on for liking, as diverse and bizarre as my musical tastes are.

toggletoggle post by GEORGE ZIMMER at Jul 13,2007 2:47pm

HI, I'M GEORGE ZIMMER, FOUNDER AND CEO OF MEN'S WEARHOUSE. IT ALL STARTED WHEN ELTON JOHN AND I WERE IN THE SAME YOGA CLASS DOWN AT THE YMCA. WHILE IN A PARTICULARLY PRECIPITOUS POSITION, SADISTICALLY-SIZED SCROTAL SOFTBALLS SLID FROM THEIR SAFE STORAGE SPOT AND SLAPPED HIM SENSELESS. THE MOMENTUM CAUSED MY MERCILESSLY MASSIVE MEAT MANATEE TO ABDICATE ITS ABODE. AFTER BASTING THE BUNCH OF BAFFLED BROADS WITH A GENEROUS GEYSER OF GRADE-A YIFF YOGURT, THE INSTRUCTOR WAS IMMEDIATELY AND IGNOMINIOUSLY INTERRED BY THE 120MPH Z-TRAIN, FURIOUSLY FLOODING HIS FALLOPIAN TUBES WITH A BOUNTY OF BONER BEARNAISE. ELTON HOWLED LIKE A BLUES VOCALIST WITH PAIN AND PLEASURE AS HE BOUNCED ATOP MY METER-LONG MAN MONUMENT, UNTIL HE WAS INTERNALLY INFLATED BY AN INFLUX OF COCK-CREATED COOLWHIP. THE CHIRP ON HIS RECENTLY RECEIVED NEXTEL HANDSET INDICATED THAT IT WAS TIME FOR HIS NEXT, AND FIRST JOB FOR ME. ELTON JOHN NOW WORKS FOR ME IN MARKETING HIMSELF ON THE CORNER. I GUARANTEE IT.

Carole King, Jim Croce, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, The Moody Blues, Tom Petty...
I still like some Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth albums - even though their images are gay as hell, and they're not "True" Black Metal, I can still enjoy their music.
I actually like a lot of songs from Metallica's "Load" and "Reload" albums - my justification for this being that if you take away most of the major radio hits, there's some pretty decent songs on them, even if they're quite tame as far as "heaviness" or whatever. Plus Metallica was the band that got me into metal and I played those albums constantly, so I still kinda have a soft spot for those albums.
I like to listen to the oldies 103.3 on the radio sometimes, mostly for the old rock/pop hits from the 50's and 60's, although if they're playing any disco shit I turn it off.

I'm actually not ashamed to admit of any of these, but I call them guilty pleasures because I think that most hardcore metal fans would think I was a pussy for liking this shit.

That also goes along with my theory that if those albums were written/performed by band other than Metallica they would have been huge. I dont really like Reload much at all though.
