Dreaded Silence: ken told the same story about monkey's vjayjays. The one person who read that thread larfed. (word on the street is he converted to judism) They played a new song that was ayet, even though someone, I'm not saying who, needed to look at notes to sing it. I hope the pictures turned out ok with the writing from the DVD on his arms.

eternal embrace: the thing that pissed me off about this band was the singers pants/dress thing... It had so many zippers on it. There are kids out there would out any zippers, crying them selves to sleep at night and there he is hogging more than his far share of zippers. Once I realized it was a dress and not a skirt, I thought I was going to hear a bunch of nu-metal. So, on stage there was a female singer, the afore mentioned singer, a bassist, keyboardist, drummer, a violinist and a regular old guitarist. Through out the entire beginning of the set, they kept losing vocals, keyboard, everything. When that was all finally sorted out, the music was pretty good. Doomy black metal. During their set, some movie played in the background with dudes jerking off then being sliced up, girls dancing while guys shaved off their pubes, and other such wonderful scenematic events of epic proportion. I probably took way too many pictures of them while trying to get shots of a dude yanking it over the drums head or singer's sholders. if I had a movie to go along with a theme song which played when I walked around, this movie might be it.

I actually own the DVD that they were playing during Eternal Embrace's set. It's by a guy named Richard Kern, and it's called Hardcore. I bought it because it had a short film that starred Henry Rollins and Lydia Lunch, so I was psyched to check it out. Next thing I know there's Lydia on her knees blowing a random guy and later in the flick Hank's chasing her down to kill her. Pretty intense, but nothing compared to the other shit on the video. Crazy.

I saw lydia lunch's name and was "makes sense now!"

oh yeah and i loved the Opeth-ness in Polaris.

Polaris really has an interesting mix of styles. Adding Ian really added something to their sound, as well.

Oh, have to thank Chris and TJ from Polaris for the equipment hookups. Hopefully we'll stop being lame at some point.

Hopefully Little A gets a friggin license and a car soon, but after seeing him last night i don't think that'll be a good idea

polaris: they didn't play a single song that I didn't like. Yeah! everything was tight sound-wise for their set (even though the crowd was getting lose and sloppy at this point). They played a cover for some kid named ken. I'm going to asume ken is a loser and never knew nothing about teh peen. this is a band that couls rule based solely on the talents of the people in the band. everything is crazy good at their instruments. but on top of that, they are getting better and better at working together and writing their songs, playing tighter. granted I did see ian looking a round a bunch forgetting what he was suppose to be doing. I have a feeling this band will be huge over seas, but play crappy bars here.

shroud of bereavement: SOB down a female singer and a guitarist, but thankfully paul shaffer is still there on second keyboard. They played a song that they "haven't played out for 3 years blah blah" and it sounded perfect. funny though, I never remember being able to hear that many samples during their set. Dan mentioned something about a new CD. he's always mentioning a new CD. it seems like they always have one out with new material, but then they play the same 2 songs live! when they got into their 3rd song, I had to jet no matter how much I wanted to stay.
