I am seriously looking for a guitar player that share's my same interest's. There was alot of shit on the last thread about image and stuff. Honestly ,I don't care if your hair is long or short. I just want someone that is professional and dedicated.

We need the right guy with equipment ,trasportation and the freedom to get up and go if the opportunity comes to tour. We know everyone needs to work and has responsibility's but being in the band must come first over everything else including wive's,kid's and girlfriend's. I don't give a fuck about the job I'm working. I do what I want because the band is more important to me. We need a dude that think's the same way and has the ball's to tell their boss I have a show and I won't be at work this day and can tell their girlfriend to fuck off when she want's to suck away time needed for value production. I need someone that is willing to leave it all behind and deal with the consequences later.

If you share the same attitude as me and are willing to sacrifice alot of time to learn the song's and come to practice and do show's then we will get along fine.

contact me at:

www.myspace.com/scottfromzircon

or

zircon666@hotmail.com

Please,no Lazy Fuck's or Emocore kid's.

i would have gone full bore at this if i had known about it last year. good luck though. you guys rock.

toggletoggle post by JDDomination   at Jun 3,2007 7:10pm
I would also have jumped on this but it seems that you are looking for more than just a part time band member. I have school, work, girlfriend, and another band. This would be fun as hell but I don't have the time for it. But if you guys want to play a show together, Im down.

Zircon is pretty sick, Hoser, you should join anyway, and never show up to practice, just like the old days!

If you can spread the word out there that we need a guitarist that would be great. We are most definetely looking for someone permanant but we may have to get another fill in to do some show's and a couple weekend tours at the end of the summer.

no one ever sent me any tabs, just learn it by ear. The songs are easy as hell

I don't think you'll find anyone willing to put a band before their child, and if you do they're probably pretty terrible people, might want to aim for someone with no children!

Anyway, good luck!!

Putting your band before family, man you are RETARDED. if i ever did that i would NEVER get laid ever again. I love playing with my band but man, that is just stupid, family should ALWAYS be first

My band is my family!

toggletoggle post by ShadowSD  at Jun 8,2007 7:58am
I think that hits it on the head, dude, your band is your family. The whole one vs. the other theme in this thread is very misled.

After all, no matter how many kids one has, a person doesn't put one family member ahead of another, and makes sure that you have time for each person, and it's true for any lifelong musician whether you're talking about biological family or musical family. If someone is truly dedicated to both, and is willing to work their asses off, most conflicts between the two can be resolved. Having a daughter now makes it way harder for me to make time for my band, but that just makes me try that much harder because I want the best for her, and because father or not, I will always be a musician - nothing else.

toggletoggle post by ShadowSD  at Jun 8,2007 8:10am
I guess the advice I'm trying to get at is that you'll have better luck asking for musicians with kids who put their band right at the top of the list with their family, not AHEAD of their family (anyone who would say that inherently lacks the loyalty traits you'd be looking for anyway).

But what about the musicains out there that are very successful and do this for a living. They have a wife and kid's but they need the income from their band to keep a roof over their heads. That is what i mean when I say band is number one. Without that you have no family if that is your main source of income.

I may sound like an asshole from what I wrote up top but I was very pissed when I started this thread, mainly at what I am witnessing happen to my old guitarist.

All I want is a guitarist that put's the band up top and is truely dedicated. I really don't care what he has going on in his life outside the band. I don't care if he has 12 wive's and 32 kid's ,as long as he's able to perform and tour when the opportunity comes. That's all that matter's to me. It's a job not a hobby to me. I may not be able to make a living off the band yet but it is becoming a little side business through merchandise sale's and good show's and stuff. I do plan on growing with this project and making more cd's and stuff and spreading the name. I'm sure it will be doing good if the band keep's together.

toggletoggle post by ShadowSD  at Jun 10,2007 4:33pm
I see what you're saying, you want someone who is determined to work towards making music their primary source of income, because they want their profession to be music, and will accept nothing less. That I can definitely understand; even though it's also true that it's important to be in a band for music over money (obviously), someone who sees it as never becoming more than a hobby or secondary source of income isn't worth your time, you're right.

Good luck.

I'll have multiple families. I'm still working on getting my kid's past the 30 mark. 12 wive's sounds good though. I'm also working on that. I only have about 6 girlfriends right now. I'll have a different family in each country so I'll have to tour to be able to see them.

So far we've tried out a couple people and we are working with them but we still continue the search. We want to audition as many guitar players as possible so we find the right guy.
