Dashes are already common for metal sites: metal-archives.com, doom-metal.com, metal-rules.com

Granted I hate dashes in domain names but metal-shows.com has a better ring to it than the rest.

metalshows.us is good and all but what if you want to list shows that are in different countries?

I'd go with usmetalshows.com. But that's just because I hate dashes in URLs.

The dash makes the name easier to read - that way you'll never get confused with "MetAlsHows.com" - or maybe that's just me.

well reading it is fine I think. The only problem comes when you want to say "hey go to the site metal shows dot com" (or "metal dash shows dot com").

I still stand by metalshows.net, I wish I thought of that earlier.

Hell Bodog uses a .net address and they're huge. But it doesn't hurt that they spend millions in advertising.

You should make it so that people have to register for free to post shows, and ask them for basic info about promoters and venues (location, email, myspace, address). That would really help bands book DIY tours
