I'm trying to find a picture of him. His name is Carl Abuhl. He's the only prisoner in the history of the Spring Creek Correctional Center in Alaska to ever murder his cellmate. It was on MSNBC Lockup: Alaska. This guy went into detail about the whole thing like it was nothing. His cellmate apparently was in jail for one thing, but had also killed his mother and gotten away with it. While the guy was bragging about it, Abuhl flipped out, tore up a bed sheet, strangled the guy with it and said "Go say hi to Mommy." After he choked the guy to death he stomped his head in, crushed his skull completely, and later on started microwaving parts of his body.
I just read about why this guy was in jail in the first place.
Apparently he went over to his friends house and found his girlfriend doing drugs with his friend. Abuhl had a problem with his girlfriend doing drugs with anyone but him. So he caved the guy's head in with a baseball bat and then put his cat in the microwave.

Yeah, I'm sorry that I got my facts wrong. I did a stupid thing and based it off things that I heard verbatum come out of his mouth, and things that I read word for word in published police logs, and online newspaper articles. If you'd like me to believe a different story then please write a book about it, and give me a copy. All I'm trying to say is that this guy looks like someone I know. Shutup, and go away.

Does anyone know if Carl Abuhl will ever get out of prison or not? He was sentenced to 60 years.. Is he going to go up for parole in 20 or so years?
Technically, he did not get 60 years; he was sentenced to a total of 70 years, 10 suspended and is not eligible for parole until 2042. He still has a case pending that has yet to go to trial. That case will feasibly net him another 99 years. You can wait for him, but his heart belongs to another. But don't take my word for it, ask him. He is never going to be released from prison in his lifetime and it would be foolish to think otherwise.

No need to ask.. I'm sure you are telling the truth. But. I want to clear up something. I am not a groupie or fan. I seen the show and knew I had to know him - he didn't seem to me to belong where he is. He is intellegent and I agree with the way he thinks. I'm happy I wrote to him. And.... that he wrote back. He chokes on him for 5 minutes after a struggle, he stuffs things down his throat. then for as long as possible he tried to cover up the killing by claiming his cellmate was sleeping. a few hours later, the CO clicked and found his cellmate dead. this was the 1 killing at spring creek CF. there has been another one since then.

Carl Abuhl was found guilty by a jury of murder in the second degree, after they rejected a defense
of heat of passion. Abuhl was visiting a friend, and they got into an argument over the friend
sharing drugs with Abuhl's girlfriend. Abuhl, it seems, was jealous and wanted to do everything
with his girlfriend including sharing drugs with her. His friend was on a bed and had a bat next to
him. He raised the bat to threaten Abuhl with it, and Abuhl took it away from him. He hit his friend
in the head with the bat and knocked him out. He sat on the bed talking to his friend about how his
friend had harmed him and then beat his friend's head in with the bat and killed him. He then put
his friend's cat in the microwave and turned it on. The cat was able to get out, and Abuhl stomped
on the cat, thinking he had killed it. The cat lived, although it suffered burns on his body requiring
amputation of the ears and tail. Before trial, Abuhl pled guilty to cruelty to animals for his attack of
the cat.
