This makes as much sense as if people went to pray at The Church of Dinosaur Fossils.

There's a reason the fiction and non-fiction sections in a library are separate.

I can't even describe how bad "You know how far America has fallen when you open a creationist museum and people say 'You shouldn't be able to have that kind of museum'" is.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at May 29,2007 10:39am
isnt a museum there to display facts? how can creationism have a museum, when there isnt one single proven fact? what the hell are they displaying?

toggletoggle post by HailAtWork at May 29,2007 11:08am
I don't know what's more disturbing, this or the DEA museum...these people are idiots. People lived with dinosaurs..riiiiight.

Anyone that doesn't believe in evolution needs to be killed. The end.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at May 29,2007 12:20pm
So let them open it. Who gives a shit?

toggletoggle post by HailAtWork at May 29,2007 12:44pm
It's an abomination, museums are supposed to contain art, science and history and serve a purpose to educate and enrich society. This museum will only serve to further confuse stupid people.

Why are you worried about what happens to stupid people? It's not like stupid people aren't already bombarded with with Christian propaganda, and you have to PAY MONEY to go this museum. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Plus, I'm pretty sure almost overyone who goes to this place will already be Christian, I don't see it being responsible for too many conversions.

Because stupid people vote, thereby screwing things up for everyone else.

This is coming from someone who makes the same point over and over and over again.

SAY SOMETHING NEW FOR ONCE OR ELABORATE ON WHAT YOU'VE ALREADY SAID. YOU ARE BORING.

Check out its website http://www.creationmuseum.org/

I like how vague it is about what the exhibits actually are.
If I lived closer I'd get an annual pass just to fuck with people.
I think someone slipped Jerry Falwell some acid while he was watching Land of the Lost with his kids. That is the only rational explanation for this stupid, stupid shit.
Jesus needs to go the way of Zeus and Apollo.

So, is this like when a black guy laughs at nigger jokes?

I honestly think it's hilarious that people think that Christians agree with each other on everything. This is not the case for me. I think this museum idea is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

You can't use science to prove that which is faith based. If you could, then it wouldn't be faith anymore.

But yeah let the museum open. Let it be a testament to stupidity.

I think that's kind of missing the point. I'm not by any means saying I agree with creationism, or this museum (in fact, I find it all pretty laughable). But I think the point they're trying to make by trying to come at it empirically (if you can call ignoring years and years of already solid research and theory regarding the creation of the word truly "empirical") is that their faith, i.e. the bible alleges certain specific details which they feel they can prove. They're probably (definently) wrong, but I think it's kind of refreshing to see someone from the creationist side approach the subject with at least an ounce of respect for people's intelligence and need for factual evidence. Again, IF you can call it that. Personally, I think it's interesting to hear other arguments like this.

stupid people will vote themselves right out of exitance. and take us with them.

Yeah it's definitly interesting hearing arguments like this. The problem is that looking at the bible empircally is going to fail. And it should. Both the old and new testaments say that faith (believing what is not proven) is the big point anyway, so this exercise in evidence gathering is pointless. I think the goal here, in regards to this musem, was to create a place where the faithful can hide themselves from secular science. Thats stupid and cowardly.

T rex was a herbivore huh? I'm sure that's why they had large sharp teeth and huge powerful jaws, and big eyes to detect motion. Those plants must've be really hard to catch and rip into shreds.
