New site? Maybe some day.
Name some pizza shops you've been to and where they are located.....include yummy pizza joints..other than chains
(In no order)
Town spa stoughton ma
Flatbread co. Portsmouth nh
Ken's ny portsmouth nh |
I work at a pizza place simply called "The Place" here in North Kingstown, RI, it's good stuff. |
ugh, i can't stand town spa in stoughton. the food distributor i used to work for a few years ago delivers there. one day i had to unload 3 trucks full of sauce at that place, and got a nice tip...one of their disgusting pizzas, haha.
gaetano's pizza in brewster, ny is delicious
villa pizza in stratford, ct has the best slice of NY style pizza i've had in this state
marcello's in whitman, ma has my favorite, but i can't say it's the best since most people would think it's too greasy.
randy's in southington, ct is also awesome. they have something called "worcester sticks" that are fried dough with parmesan cheese on them, and a side of marinara sauce for dipping. apparently they originated on worcester st. in new haven, ct, where many of ct's best pizza places are (so i've been told).
the real deal in west roxbury, ma, has the biggest slices of pizza i've seen in my life. 1/5 of an 18" pizza costs $2, and their specialty pizzas (buffalo chicken, ranch chicken, etc.) are probably the greatest things to happen to food since breaded raviolis.
little stevie's in boston is also amazing. |
Lou Malnati's in Chicago, IL
END OF THREAD |
Almost every good pizza place eventually makes a bad pizza that ruins their pizza for me.
Places that haven't done that yet:
Little Stevies
Poopsies
Crow Point pizza in hingham Mass (best pizza joint in the world IMO) |
Want awful pizza? buy pizza anywhere outside of the US. (california and chicago count as being outside the US). |
The worst pizza on earth is made by the midwestern chain Imo's.
St. Louis style "pizza" which is essentially franco-american sauce and provel cheese (budget-ass velveeta sold only in Missouri) on top of a thin piece of burt cardboard.
I had two slices last year in Stl. and puked it up almost immediately.
UPPER CRUST (there's a few of them)
Framingham Bakery (traditional Sicilian with Gonzola spell)
Tango Pizza (Framingham, Brazilian owned-Hail to Brazil)
Sabatini's (Westboro)
Sicilia's (Double Stuffed, PVD and Boston) |
Marc Anthony's in Onset.
ENDALIST. |
We're talking about pizza Rich, not peoples' underage daughters. |
I can have both. You ain't the boss of me. |
Bob...when I am in chicago in august I will go there and get a slice. Last time I was in chicago I went to uno's..damn that flakey deep dish dough is awesome |
Rich might be able to attest to a Lingucia pizza from Mike's in Fairhaven. |
Oh YES. Mike's is fantastic. I've had to avoid it for years due to PSYCHOTIC WHORES. |
LA FESTA (Dover, NH)
CRAZY DOUGHS (Boston, MA)
Bertucci's |
yes, Crazy Doughs has some wonderful selections. |

in NYC there is a place up near 116th, just south of columbia where it's like $2 for a slice that is the size of a baby ape. the pizzas are so huge it looks rediculous. |

i see ads for that on tv, it's fucking torture. isn't there only 1? |
there are like a million Sal's. one thing I got to say is that different minorities keep running different sals. the one in salem, nh is only good 1/2 the time. it was the worst when the Indians ran that place. best when the Itals I was there a week ago and some hisapnics made it shitty. |
Bob's Pizza on East Hollis Street in Nashua, NH. |
Sal's in Concord is awesome. They have amazing desserts too. |

CROW POINT is by far the best for subs.
GIO's in Weymouth is great too.
EXPRESS PIZZA in Weymouth is good too and has a variety of different shiat like black bean and rice mini roll ups with chive sour cream for the dipping... fuck yesssssss.
THE PLACE NEXT TO THE MIDDLE EAST they have the best slices i think
-my girlfriend always asks where i want to get pizza and i always say "a pizza's a fucking pizza" seriously. how can you fuck up a pizza? unless you're a wicked snob about that shit. |

The Alumni in Quincy is great for bar style pizzas.
Cape Cod Cafe in Brockton is supposed to be really good.
Angelinas in Quincy is a good time.
LITTLE STEVIES IS GROSS. That place is good for one thing only... a meal when you've only got $2 in your pocket. I'll give it that. Little Stevies was always there for me when I was totally broke, and killing time between jobs. But I don't think I'd EVER go out of my way to eat there.
FUCK TOWN SPA. Whenever places like this out in the suburbs get this reputation for incredible pizza they take it as a license to treat people like shit. Anyone ever heard of the Linwood in Randolph? I waited there for over 2 hours for the most mediocre pizza I've ever had. Town Spa was way worse. The last time I went my girlfriend and I left the house at like 6 and didn't get back until almost 10 because Town Spa took forever to do everything. We waited almost an hour to get a table. We waited almost 45 minutes to even get our drink orders taken. I watched other tables full of 5 or 6 people be seated 15 minutes after us, get their food, pay and leave before anyone even came to take our pizza orders. I watched the waitresses stand around gabbing while my food sat there on the counter until it turned lukewarm. After being in the restaraunt for almost 2 hours without seeing a single piece of food in front of me I caught the worst look ever for asking the waitress where our pizza was. And after all that the pizza was nothing special whatsoever. In fact it was kind of bad. The sauce they used tasted like Chef Boyardee beefaroni sauce. The crust was kind of soggy too.
I think I underpaid by like 8 bucks because I didn't feel like making change. Up theirs. |
Mess: when I'm in salem with carina, I get sal's and then make her go into little johns and get the sauce. when I go in, they charge me $.50 per container. |
true that! but nice slice (in my mind) is in the same catagory as the Gas Light (portsmouth) or bertuccis. they are more works of culinary art and less of a pizza. When I want to hang it on the wall, I don't count it as a real pizza.
when I go to nice slice, I spend $30
when I go to bertuccis, I spend about $20
when I go to gas light, I spend about $20
if the pizza is over $11, it's no longer a pizza |
i use to cook for bertucci's when i was 17. for like a year. that place got swarmed by government agents rounding up illegals for not having there green cards. haha |
and you are still here? I would have thought they would have sent you back to 1940's germany. must have had a great passport. |

i know what you mean its great sometimes, but others it just sucks.
i go to sal's for the salzones those are awesome. |
and then krueger's in haverhill is awesome.
i could eat tripoli and christy's pizza all day. |

Fauci's pizza, in wyoma square in Lynn Mass
Family Pizza- off of main dunstable road, near captain's corner, in Nashua NH
Town House of pizza, across from headliners in Nashua, NH |
Lynn Lynn the city of Sin. |
If you're ever in Northeast PA definently absolutely goto The Grotto. There's one in Wilkes Barre, and one in Kingston, maybe some more. Out of this world barbeque chicken pizzas. I actually ate 2 in one day. I got to see a bunch of skinhead dudes do karaoke too. |

poopsy's in marshfield has awesome pizza too. it tastes like cheetos. |
Woosta Pizza in Worcester and Auburn Town Pizza in Auburn are by far my favorites. also Christy's Pizza in Salisbury Beach is amazing. |
fucknose's pizza in alabaster county is also amazing |
yeah, if you're in worcester, you need to get woosta pizza. it's like papa gino's pizza but not nearly as greasy |
lynwood- sure it gets crowded and you gotta wait but go there during the day and its great.
town spa- lost some quality over the years, but buf chicken is good- used to be 4.50 for a pizza now its like 7 or 8, kinda lame.
prince's? (cant remember the name) may be in holbrook, havent eaten there in years but remember it being good
in DC- pizza mart in adams morgan- biggest slices ive ever had, incredible
jumbo slice on u st.- not the best pizza but huge slices
pane bella- i still cant find the place, the address is some other restaurant, so i always get it delivered, but it's great pizza. |
how could i forget CAPONE'S in Weymouth and Marshfield |
Nicc: i'm all over the place. i probably do know some of your relatives. |
I wish a few northerners would cross the Mason Dixon line and open a decent Pizza place here, nothing but Pappa Johns, Domino's and Little Caesars |
you don't even have a papa gino's?
you poor man! you poor, poor man! |
papaginos is nasty.
I miss lil ceasars. |

ha, i was going to say that, but i also didn't want to read all the posts to see if i was reposting. |
The first time Strength for A Reason played Romans they asked me about places to eat in the area. I told them there was Papa Gino's down the street, and rode down with them. They kept asking me stuff like "Do they have good marinara sauce there?" and "How are their meatballs?" I didn't know how to answer them because I didn't realize they didn't have Papa Ginos in PA. When they saw what it was they were still cool about it because they were just glad to get some food. But imagine thinking you were going to some nice Italian takeout place, and someone brought you to the Papa Ginos on the north side of Brockton. Haha I felt like a dick. |
Even if I thought you were taking me to a crack den to eat off the floor and you brought me to papaginos, i'd still be pissed. |

Don't know the Paddock but besides that I full endorse this list.
The best pizza I've ever had in the Boston area was some random stand on Revere Beach that not too far from Wonderland when I saw Converge there. Holy shit it was amazing. |
And nothing embodies the word "fatass" better than a dual meal of barbecued meats and delicious pizza at Santarpios. Not alot of people go to Eastie for some reason but it's really easy to get to on the T and amaaaazing. |
I work at a pizza place. Pizza r00lz dudez!! |

Capone's is fuckin great, I just realized how many pizza places there are in Weymouth, House of Pizza is good and Franks Pizza is too, but the best is Ultimate Pizza in Weymouth Landing; it really lives up to it's name. Nicc whats the last name? I probably know your fam too. I might know Mess too |
Regina's, north end boston. |
Sicilia's in RI, Cassertas |
La festa (dover Nh ) can't fuck with their slice around NH |
Niccolai said:
yeah, i know of that last name from around the area |

Sicilia's on Federal Hill in Providence (right down the road from the living room) has the best stuffed pizza ever. the crust is closer to real pie crust than pizza crust and their toppings are awesome too. id suggest going there if you are ever at the living room. just take a right at the dunkin donuts when your leaving and go straight its right on the left corner of atwells ave. |
and Cassertas is on the right before it. They make a tasty stuffed pizza, yes they do. But, is it really a pizza with it being over $11 is the question. |
Abt 90 minutes away from nyc and I want a slice of cheese pizza |
has anyone been to caruso's in melrose? that place is AMAZING. |

Hah, I used to work at the Alumni.
Angelina's = backed. But they never had shit on Napoli's...which I think is long gone.
There's a place in New Bedford...Salonika's (sp?) that is soooo good. Their steak and cheese pizza will kill you, but it's outstanding. Jon and I haven't checked out the small places in Fall River yet.
I also LOVE the place in the garage in Harvard Square. Fucking rules. The cheap pitchers of PBR don't hurt, either.
I used to work at Ciao's Pizzeria in Nashua, NH. Also, Brickhouse Pizza in Chelmsford is good. Some of the guys in Abhorred work there. |

Lay off the pipe. Palace Pizza destroys the competition. |
Looking at my receipt from 136am...I had a slice of cheese from villa pizza on west 42nd & 8th in the city. It was good! |
I vote for Monticello's in rockland....they're sicillian slices are the best ever. |
