supposedly starts at 5, so Id say 6 |
I'll be there, swollen face and all. Some people might confuse me with Robert Z'Dar or Kenny Rogers. |
I'm leaving for this early so I can get there @ 5pm. outbreak is like a mental breakdown on stage. |
eh, i was planning on leaving at 6....elks show always take forever to start |
seeing pat without his glasses is weird. As the story goes, his face swelled up too much and they popped off. this place is already wicked hot. One band down. By the time this show is over, it's going to be 99% dead and baking bodies. Goodtimes.
carrier, the: when I got in their, they were on their last couple songs (thank you very much microcenter!). I didn't immediately know who they were. The sound in the room is very weird. I think the only thing coming through the PA is the vocals so it sounds odd. There were a lot of Nashua Shows people. the new stuff they played sounded really good, but everyone seemed to know all the words already. Did they pass out lyric sheets via a myspace group? |
wakeup call: never heard of them before but everyone seemed to. Lots of people knew all the songs. I thought they were pretty good Hardcore, but not much more I can think to say about them.
downhill fast: at the beginning of their set, there was nothing. People didn't seem into them (besides a few people) which shows the age of the people in the crowd. Not old enough to remember DHF's flavor of punk hardcore. At the 1/2 way mark people started to dance and it continued to the end. It's probably cause the songs at the end were a little more raw and fast.
living hell: starting of with a huge fast blast beat while playing slow on the cymbols. Awesome. They are like a more hardcore integrity with rock riffs. Speakin of integrity, they ended and then the singer gave up the mic to JP (singer of shipwreck) and they did an integrity cover. Actually it seemed like evryone was grabbing the mic away. I would have caught an awesome image at the end with EVERYONE screaming... But my camera messed up and would let me snap. |
JP=jamaca plains
JD=singer of shipwreck |
such a good show...outbreak was insane as usual |
I am really really happy the pictures I took. that is a rarity |
What was the Integrity cover? Rich and I were too busy getting drunk downstairs. |
Since this is the summer of the margarita, I forget right now. the singer of ship wreck came out and since shipwreck always get's called an integrity cover band, it made sense.
shere khan: this band has become a "supergroup" of sorts with OBW, BMH, and Shipwreck represented in the band. they did the leg work to get them where they were and I don't think it had anything to do with the fact of the bands they were in. Now, they are one of the largest straight edge bands in boston. Since they all have other bands, this band's been playing the same songs forever. by forever, I mean since the beginning of time as we know it. if you ask them, they can tell you about Adam, Eve, and how many days it really took god to make the earth (let's just say he got some day laborers to help him on the 4th and 5th days). It was wicked lame that a lot of people left the room during their set. too tuff for you? it was excellent to see mike COA dancing and colin make a cameo for one song.
outbreak: like I said, watching this band is like watching a mental breakdown happen on stage. some how their fans are always 19. it must be some weird age limit thing. (speaking of the limit, where was johnny limit?) Their set is as awesome and crazy as a bane show. Except you need to remove all the "posi" stuff and add in "I'm going to fucking die and I fucking hate you". the guitarist of their band is always absolutely crazy in the pit during all the other bands, but when h's on stage, it's the crowds turn. people roll around and cause damage damage to the crowd, stage, mic, merchtables around them. their set was excellent. bodies flying to and fro. I even witnessed rich horror watching their set. top notch! |
Haha, I shoved some kid so hard during Outbreak I sent myself flying into someone's drumkit. Good times! |
Mad brewdoggies and hard R's after Outbreak. Good times! |
Hard R's and hard stares. |
I didnt see any hard stares, except from that bald dude behind outbreak. |
XHARDSTARESX are welcome at the Cambridge Elks. |

All the hard stares were after the show. |
oopies, I missed that. I was too busy shuffling alongz. |
I'm pissed case my car got towed and I had to leave the show early and I showed up late so I only caught 2 bands...sucked |
Where did you park? I saw a car getting towed on my way out. |
it took me a good 45 minutes driving around the parking lots to get a spot |
yeah, I got there and had to park 4 blocks away. |
i parked in the small bank parking lot that is private but I have been parking there for legit a year if not 2 when the elks has shows and never once had a problem. I drive a honda civic hatch, silver.
The first thing I thought about when I saw my car gone was my cd's. I nearly shit a brick thinking about how all my cd's were in my car and I probably could have had a heartattack if I stood there long enough thinking about it.
It ended up costing me 120 bucks and I had to catch a train to fuckin quincy with my friend and then drive from quincy to brighton to get my car....it sucked! |
fuck dude i parked there for the bane show, luckily i didn't get towed.....but this show was seriously a lot of fun. i love outbreak. going to every show within a day's driving range once i get out of school for the summer that has outbreak on it! |
