Meshuggah is much better than all of those bands combined....

wait a minute the chariot and norma jean touring together????
i wonder if they will have josh sing the 15 minute long song??? let me know about that.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 11,2007 4:17pm
I'm curious about that too. the meshuggah was a ALOL comment.

A show in Providence that not one person living in the city of Providence will be at.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 11,2007 4:52pm
I was wondering that same thing

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 11,2007 8:01pm
I'm here now. the place have been renovated A LOT. like amazingly a lot. I'm really surprised where there was piles of debris, now there are booths. only bad thing is that there are probably 50 people here and ALOL is about to go on.

hmmmm lupos is the palladium but smaller and 500 times better.

I don't care what anyone says.....I like Norma Jean. Even newer material, yeah I know they are up Botch's ass, and dudes that look like chicks dig them, but I still find redeemable(no pun) qualitys in their music making them worth the time.

*awaits destruction by board members, but at least I'm man enough to admit I like them.

i like the first 5 tracks on their first cd a lot.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 11,2007 10:13pm
why do you think I'm at this show? I like botch and I like them. I like all the bands playing today.

handshake murders, the: my first time seeing them. I had been listening to the stream on goodfellow recording's site in the background during work off and on since they put it up, but I don't remember any parts sounding like the meshuggah. I can see why the network dudes love this band. The sound sits somewhere between breather resist's converginess, the_network's spazzy change ups and a life once lost's meshuggah riffs. not to mention the incredible hulk as their singer. There weren't too many people in the house for them, but I was here and that's all that matters to me. the vocals are so much heavier on the CD. though I found out later that I was only hearing the vocals bouncing off the ceiling.

a life once lost: it's funny how spazzy and chaotic they are live compared with how precise they are in their sound check. reminds me of how good of musicians they are. The sound was the best for them IMHO. By the time they went on, I had figure out that the vocals were coming only from above and behind my head. They have a new CD coming out in august and played a bunch of tracks off that. The new tracks had a more driving drum sound to them. It sounded really good. and people in the crowd asked me if the image behind them was heroine... Um.. Kids, it's food colored oil, water and a projector. They ended their set with a couple old ones and a few people from the audience (goat island's ex-singer) got in to the action. I've been seeing these guys in concert for what 6 years now? absolutely awesome.

chariot, the: it was all that I was hoping for. The singer runs around doing crazy stuff. The rest of the band doesn't just play spazzy music, they act the part on the stage too. They don't stand still ever and the bassplayer is constantly flinging his bass all over the place. I wonder if he actually plays it. They have a new CD out and the songs they play may have been good. I'm not sure since I was right in front and it was all just bass. Almost all of the members got up and personal with the crowd. When ever I looked down to do something with my camera, I fine myst would float down over me. I'm guessing from someone spitting water, but I never saw them do it. As the set ended, the rest of the band dismantled the stage leaving the drummer with less and less equipment. At some point the singer threw his mic in the crowd to a lucky fan. This was after it was all the way in his mouth and he played fish with it across the stage. you might want to introduce that mic to some alcohol before using it. I thought it was hilarious when the singer said that norma jean was one of his favorite bands. ha!

Why would anyone do that on the board? Just because your taste in music really sucks is no reason to jump all over you about it and call you a fag and stuff. You have every right to listen to shitty music, as am I.

When you put it like that, it really starts to make sense!

why are all the mallcore kids now into metalcore? And hardcore? Could someone tell me? These bands seem like mallcore kids follow them

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Apr 12,2007 12:39pm
looks like they did play the old stuff with josh singing with themm damn i wish i could have made it just to see that.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 12,2007 3:31pm
norma jean: they started up in synch with a movie ad basically the entire set stayed right in alignment with the movie. Think there was a girl with a lappy keeping things in order with the projector. Their bass drop was nothing short of painful.. they played throug a bunch of songs off the last two albums. I don't really know the ones of the newest CD. They ended with 2 tracks off blessed the martyr and josh came out for memphis will be laid to waste. Then then stopped. I figure that was a perfect song to end with, but they didn't and came out with creating something out of nothing. This meant that all I heard as I left the show were tweens shouting "like bring a knife to a gunfight."

i had to leave early, during a life once lost my buddy and I were in the pit someone spin kicked my buddy and shattered all his teeth.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 12,2007 10:48pm
I heard about that from the bouncers from what I heard the kid that kicked him was a friend of his and he got hit in the head, fell down and then got kicked in the teeth.
maybe that's why I had that dream last night that I shattered 6 of my back teeth.

toggletoggle post by paulm at Apr 13,2007 1:19pm
yeah it fuckin blew. missed most of the show, we carried him out and he made jokes about and shit but it just sucks that shit like that can happen in the pits after all the shows we go to and pit at too heh.
