It will most likely be the same 6-7 Local bands that open every show there, I bet.So 1 or more of the following....Mortis Deveia,Hollow Image,NSN,Devil's Champion,Acariya,Heretic Hybrid,Downfall,Hostile Takeover.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Apr 5,2007 12:42pm
if Hollow Image opens for Nile, i am never going to set foot into the live metal world again.

so start your own thread for your show. i my opinion this is like plastering a flyer for your band directly over another bands flyer at a club or something when you could just as easily put it next to it.

here now. bands about to start.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 17,2007 6:51pm
putrescine: (mainstage) 6:50-7:20
tommy coma: 7:25-7:55
iridescent exposure: (mainstage) 8-8:30
severed survival: 8:35-9:05
daath: (mainstage) 9:10-9:30
eyes sewn shut: 9:45-10:15
chthonic: (mainstage) 10:20-10:55
excrecor: 11:00-11:30
nile: (mainstage) 11:35-1

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 17,2007 8:53pm
they are currently 20 minutes ahead of schedule.

putrescine: (mainstage) 6:50-7:20 they probably would have sounded so much better over the speakers are the dover brickhouse the other day. Too bad i sucked and didnt go. They sound good on this stage, but kept giving each other pained looks. I guess they didnt think they did so well. Funny that you can understand a lot of the vocals like six feet under. Wished I had noted some of them. Part way through their set, the drummer had to run out to his car for duct tape.

tommy coma: 7:25-7:55 honestly the name is kid of dumb for the type of music they do. I'm obviously no music critic, but the name is so the name ck dahlia murder/lamb of god thabassist n that. The lead guitarist wasnt there and the was
filling in for him. He did a fantastic job given his lack of time on guitar.

iridescent exposure: (mainstage) 8-8:30 they didnt break EVERY rule of mask's but came pretty damn close to it. I'm sure there was a rule about full frontal nudity that they came close to breaking but didnt officially break. They crowd was quite roudy for them, but not enough to get in trouble. Well, the dude that got pulled on stage by the band got yelled at. Besides that, nothing. Not even when the bassist went over the barricade. I thought fo'sho they would be banned. This, being the second time I've seen them making me some what of an expert on the topic of this band, was different mostly cause there was a third vocalist on the stage. The old gutteral vocals guy was still a bit confused by it and he kept looking at travis for directions. You wouldnt have known it by looking at him, but the hi/cleaner singer was rocking a broken foot.

severed survival: 8:35-9:05 compared to the opening set at ralph's this could almost be considered a different band. They still did the death cover, but were so much more into the audience. Helps when the audienc is eye level. The singer ever went diwn into the cfowd and there was a little bit o' the old moshing. No one gvot in trouble for it.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 17,2007 10:08pm
daath: (mainstage) 9:10-9:30 they could have started like 20 minutes early but didn't. the singer definitely didn't get the "no moshing" memo about mark's. The singer kept asking people to move. Oh well, It didn't happen, but nice try anyhow. Anyone else pick out that cover? Im not crazy am I? Wow.. Just wow. Seeing kevin talley lay it down on the drums is one of the best things. Too bad I couldn't get back there to shoot pictures. Too much backlined gear.

eyes sewn shut: 9:45-10:15 their merch looked like they were going to be awesome. Sick logo, sick design. When the singer was talking on stage.. Er.. I thought it was going to suck. But now, once they started it was pretty good. More like scar culture metal. That stuff that's not nu-metal but has just the right amount of SBC-ness to it. Crazy dan was right up front for their whole set. Look forward to these guys playing ralph's i'm sure.

toggletoggle post by Arist  at Aug 18,2007 2:31am
thanks rev, it was a good night. Chthonic and Nile absolutely killed! we had some problems.. live and learn

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 18,2007 3:17am
pictures in a minute

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 18,2007 3:18am
chthonic: (mainstage) 10:20-10:55 honestly, I've seen nile before a bunch of times, including in new hampshire. They rule and all, but I was sooo looking forward to chthonic. They were the saving grace of MMF 2002. Guess what? They were even better than I could have ever dreamed the would be. So so so good. Honestly I could have left the show right there and I would have been so happy. but they only got a short set. There were a bunch of video cameras all over the place and im pretty sure the singer told us to oppose/destroy taiwan. Hm.. Maybe it just didn't translate well. It's extremely cool to see the weird instrument they used. They had that last time, but I don't think they played it as much. The only sad thing about their set ending was neither sigh nor tyrannt (2 other asian black metal bands) weren't also on tour with them. *sigh* there is always next year, right? It only took hem 5 years to get over for the second time.

excrecor: 11:00-11:30 so it turns out that the singer (im guessing arist? No? Or were you the guitarist?) was someone that I mentored at WUNH oh so many years ago. Damn it im old. No wonder my body can't take THE PAIN anymore. They used reason for the samples/keys and it kept messing up on them. I really didn't hear the much anyhow. There were a lot of kids in the front there rocking out for them. Surprising. And the security didn't even look worried. No moshing mind you, just head banging. They started of really heavy and pounding, but mixed it up towards the end with that maddness song that I heard so much about leading up to it.

nile: (mainstage) 11:35-1 by the time you read this review, nile will be over and crazy dan would have been booted out of the show. I really can't believe that this show went over so well. I would say that there are at least 170 out there watching nile. Like I said, I was at the last show that they played in NH. Dallas mentioned in on stage. It was the elvis room 97 or 98 on the catacombs tour. I ended up purchasing their first CD there. Back then karl was using a 75mhz packard-like computer with either windows 3.11 or 95. (im pretty sure it was windows 3.11, but I forget which now). The thing even had a CRT screen. Through all the years and upgrades that I have seen them through. Now, he's rocking a slick xp laptop with a dual display LCD near his feet. Amazing technology really. This band always plays at the utmost of professional skill and absolute tightness. I mean they really have to.
Oh and to any of he haters out there that talked crap about nile playing this venue, they sounded perfect here. I love the palladium as much, if not more than the next person but they seriously have always sounded like an echoy wall of crap at the palladium. Try to deny that and I'll call you a super liar right to your face. Their music is to fast and full. The sound at the palladium just turns it into a mess with that high ceiling and all the frequencies folding over each other. This venues low ceilings is perfect cause the sound just travels out frm the stage and doesn't reflect back at them/the crowd.

toggletoggle post by horror_tang  at Aug 18,2007 4:36am
Damn, I am glad I went to a good show. Those that did not go to O'Brien's should be ass raped by a Sumatran Rat Monkey. Seriously, any show with Tomy Coma on the bill will suck.
