MARILYN MANSON AND SLAYER TO CO-HEADLINE NORTH AMERICAN SUMMER TOUR

It's going to happen only once, so you don't want to miss it.

Slayer and Marilyn Manson announce that they will co-headline a North American major-market summer tour set to kick off July 25 on the east coast. Plans are for the tour to play some twenty-five cities and wrap up early September on the west coast. A full, confirmed schedule will be announced shortly.

Manson and Slayer will each play full sets, and two support bands, yet to be determined, will open all shows.

Just prior to the American trek, both Manson and Slayer will be on tour throughout Europe, sharing the stage at three European festivals - the UK's Download Festival at Donington (June 9), Greenfield Festival in Sweden (June 15), and Stockholm's Metaltown Festival (June 30).

Marilyn Manson just wrapped up work on his upcoming June release to be titled, "EAT ME, DRINK ME," which Rolling Stone magazine anticipates as "epic." Voted "Best Band in the World" by Kerrang! magazine, the army of noise behind Manson's bitterness is at once raw and massive when witnessing him live - "rousing the crowd with focuses ardor," states the New York Times.

Celebrating their 26th year together, the always-uncompromising Slayer was just named "Best Live Band" in SPIN's 2006 Readers Poll, and picked up their first Grammy Award last month for "Best Metal Performance." Their latest album, "Christ Illusion" - debuting at #5 on Billboard's Albums Chart - takes on the U.S. Government about the War in Iraq, prompting one newspaper to speculate, "If Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he undoubtedly would be listening to Slayer."

That's one of the worst combinations ever.

I'd rather Marilyn Manson than fucking Lamb of Gay or Unearth or all the other metalcore garbage they usually tour with. At least it's an interesting stage show to watch.

marilyn manson is still alive?

i'd go to this if it were 1998 and he hadn't released anything mechanical animals and after

toggletoggle post by yummy at Mar 26,2007 9:10pm
It's hard to remember the last time I got excited to see either of them. Marilyn Manson would probably be more interesting. Not to say that I haven't enjoyed Slayer shows. I guess it is a weird show.

i almost made another thread about this... yay search feature! I'll check this out if Manson puts out a decent album this time. Otherwise...no dice.

even though i am not a manson fan i would enjoy seeing what all the hype over him is about
he better be going on first though.

But is that worth $60 (projected concert ticket price)? Probably not.

Agreed for both the stageshow, which Manson puts a lot of effort into, and for make-up wearing fake goth kids getting stomped out.

i don't think it would be more than $40, but i could be 100% wrong.
this will probably be the Unholy Alliance Tour 2007?

I'm actually very interested in checking this out, been awhile since I've seen Manson. I think it was the Holy Wood tour, and Slayer is always fun live even though I'll have to suffer through the newer songs to hear some classics.

Look at it from my perspective:

$100 for one hour of psychotherapy with some condescending overpaid prick, and no positive results

vs.

$60 to beat the shit out of a bunch of guys wearing eyeliner and feel really good for the rest of the week.

I think the right choice is obvious.

as soon as show dates are emailed to me, i will post them...I do want to shoot this show. I've shot both bands and they BOTH put on an awesome show, esp in terms of being able to get cool pics. Only thing is that Manson only gives 1 song to shoot...

thats retarded since he actually puts on a show, id figure he'd want the better stuff in his act to get press or oh is it supposed to be a surprise. i wonder if he still gets shot during his set.

yeah i know...the funny thing is that it's also hard to get a photo pass to shoot him. Last time I was the only one allowed to shoot him and afterwards someone made a comment that it was because I was a girl...

Reunited Christian hard rockers STRYPER and the legendary Spain-based heavy metal metal band WARCRY have been confirmed to perform on the main stage of the third edition of the Monterrey Metal Fest, set to take place Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Coca Cola Auditorium in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. SLAYER will headline the event, which promises to be the "biggest and baddest version yet," featuring "6-7 of the biggest names in heavy metal music from all over the world on the main stage and 6-7 up and coming bands on the second stage," according to a press release.

this would have been worse though

fan wise, yeah this is a lame show. Marketing wise though, this is smart, 2 of the biggest bands in their respective genres, together on the same stage, It should draw huge crowds. ok, let the debate begin.................

actually, it's too bad that you can't fly into montreal for that show.

Hmmm might have to go to this. I've seen Manson a few times and he actually puts on a damn good show. Chalked full of half naked chics and him just going ape shit. Nothing wrong with that I say. Slayer is alright live but you mainly go see Slayer to say "hey I've seen Slayer".

I saw manson in 1994 and 1997. the 1997 was one of the best theatre I've ever see with huge set changes and 10sec costume changes. it was awesome.
