My Dying Bride are probably my favorite metal band. I've toyed with the possibility of starting a band in that vein but I'm not sure I could do anything even half as good. I've also thought about trying to get people to start a MDB tribute band, but I doubt I could convince anyone to go along with it.

I was in a Doom / Death band called A TRAGEDY UNVEILED about 10 years ago that was basically MDB worship.

Get in your time machine.

We opened for AT THE GATES and NAPALM DEATH in July 1996, BROKEN HOPE and MONSTROSITY in February 1997 and the best show of all... opening for EVILUTION, DECEMBER WOLVES and MY DYING BRIDE in May 1997.

MDB are a great band overall

definate 'yay' MDB is amazing, dosen't matter what album, they're all goo din their own way. I'm not a big fan of 34.788% Complete, but it's a good album none-the-less.

toggletoggle post by Ryan_M at Jan 16,2007 8:49am
Yay. I'm more of a fan of the earlier, more death metal material, but their later work is incredible as well. One of my top favorite bands.

I voted gothpuss, therefore I should be shot. I wouldn't say they're gothpuss, they just don't suit my fancy.

Neither choice really suits them. One of my favorite bands but I rarely listen to them. The mood they convey is so powerful I prefer to put them on every few months and go on a week long MDB bender.Definitly not Friday night beer drinkin' stuff.

I'm the same way, as much as I love them, I rarely play their albums, but when I do, I'm hooked for about a week or two.
