None of the modern horror movies have been included in the poll because there will be a seperate thread for them

My favorite is the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but you can't argue that Psycho is probably the most important horror flick of all time. Plus you gotta give NOTLD a huge amount of respect probably equal to that of Psycho.

NOTLD to me is the begining of true horror.

Out of that list, I'd have to say either Night of the living Dead or The Omen. My all time favorite horror film though is Argento's Suspiria.

suspiria is great but you never actually see who is going arouns killing people
whose are those masculine hands?
the soundtrack is awesome

Rosemary's Baby needs more recognition as an awesome movie. Definitely one of my favorites.

The Shining left a huge impression on me as to what a horror movie should be. Some of these movies don't deserve to even be on the list.

Especially Childs Play.

Not only Child's Play... What about Dawn of the Dead.. I LOVE THE DEAD MOVIES!!... But I think that that could have been summed up as a series.. Day of the Dead shouldn't be left out.

And I am not even going to rock the boat with some other opinions of mine.

Dawn of the Dead is my favorite movie of all time so I disagree. Just look at how many movies ripped it off after it's release and you'll understand how important a film it was. Day of the dead was actually a disapointment when it was released. It's not the film that should have been made.

I agree all important movies. But if anything there should be less pole options. It should always just be Night of the living vs. The Exorcist.

Romero and Argento flicks are my faves. And I love the Halloween movies, even the shitty ones...

The Shining was a terrible movie, what's the matter with you people? It shit all over the book.

Night of the Living Dead, hands down. Second choice for me is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Obviously the originals of both.

That's why it's called Stanley Kubricks The Shining. It's just based on Stephen Kings book. It's still a great movie.

Pluss, I assume someone cheated for the Shining to be winning. Cause it's not even top 5 in my book.

toggletoggle post by DomesticTerror at Jan 1,2007 12:43pm
Exorcist III is way better than the Exorcist
