one thing I don't like about going to great scott's is that I remember that the disappearer don't play shows anymore and that sucks.
glow, the: wow, the drummer for bugs & rats! (who's name I can't remember now) sort of sounded like j gills band meets counting crows with the drummer from b&r and a wicked awesome vintage synth. The drummer played 1/2 of one song with only one stick. the singer sang out of the side of his mouth and the guitarist looks like he was probably in cave in at one point.
my phone battery is dying so short reviews. This concert is for a girl named maura's birthday. I'm not sure who she is, but a cool show none the less. I saw brian prophetless and leeSOE. It surprised me to see lee all looking like a lumberjack for the winter.
nothing but enemies: punkrock speaches about yuppies being sucky always make me think that I'm a yuppie. White man's burden I guess. Brian from the band side effects was on stage filming them. Their music is made for sing along choruses. Simple and catchy lyrics. They even have 7"s. Now that's punkrock!
this may or may not have anything to do with the show I'm currently at.. But.. Do you ever see a girl at and just want to tell them "you aren't fooling anyone. You are obviously a dude." just curious. Though I'll give all the wanna-be shims a hint, don't walk around like you are on a catwalk at a drag show.
superpower: a lot of straight rock parts. The sound is so clean here that you can hear all the guitar parts which aren't audible at o'briens. Good show and the skull cap dude was raging around the pit for them. I'm wondering if they are going to record with steve austin. I think he would make them sound really good on CD.
clouds: they don't have the same guitar tone like led zeplin (like coalesce does), but I can see it in the vocals. the second the guitarist hit that note as they hit the stage, I remembered them instantly. their bassplayer had the chord equivelent of your mom pinning your gloves to your coat. That thing was mammoth. He was actually wearing jeb-esque clothing and I thought for a moment that jeb was in this band now too.
doomriders: different color duct tape for each member. the floor was moving like crazy. that kid who always moshes always moshed for doomriders. their set ruled as you'd expect from them. In the continuing line of people liking doomriders who I would never think would like doomriders, Joe (xblackandbluex/KOC lawrence) was in the audience. Awesome. The track they played from the coliseum split was so heavy. I need to get a copy of that.
oh and the disappearer have a show march 22 at ralphs!
I have no idea why it's surprising when hipsters like a hipster band. It's Doomriders. It's not like people rocking out to The Devil Dogs or The Oblivians.

the reverend is not a yuppie. far from it. (official punk rock statement and fact) you can even have nice things and make morey money than yuppies and not be a yuppie. yuppie is that shitty attitude and selfish apathitic clueless way of life and how they just dont get it. they are the ruiners of cool neighborhoods and thing they are very important people.

ps, robin... lord cuntington put you on the guest list at the club knowing you were banned just to be a jerky. would of been cool if you showed. being banned from some place just makes people that much cooler and ussual the people i want to know. i have been banned from hipster headquarters the model in allston since around 95' . i flick them the birds everytime i walk by now and smile.
1 i smashed shitty pretentous trend art on each others heads and stuck gum on the noses. guy fucked with us and we had switch blade comb and it was funny. pulled it out and then combed hair.
2 threw fuckin' urinal cakes at trendy grunge kids and then complained the place smelled like piss.
3 kidnapped wfnx van , drove it over to bar , got out seeing stupid line just to sit in "cool guy bar" , ditched van got out and walked to front of line and pissed all over the dickhead bouncer.
