limewire is starting to piss me off. i tried soulseek about a year and a half ago and couldn't find any mp3s on it whatsoever, though people seem to be pretty satisfied with it. suggestions?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 27,2006 12:06pm
soulseak always makes my CPU go :(

toggletoggle post by davefromthegrave  at Dec 27,2006 12:11pm
what do they call the one where you throw a brick through a store window, take all the cds you want, and run away?

toggletoggle post by davefromthegrave  at Dec 27,2006 12:11pm
cause that's the filesharing program i use.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Dec 27,2006 12:14pm
yeah, the "no goodnick negro" program is pretty popular.

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Dec 27,2006 12:15pm
Soulseek is the only filesharing program there is.

oh yeah! that's what it's called.

toggletoggle post by Sinistas   at Dec 27,2006 12:22pm
yeah, torrents are the way to go. I used to use dc++, but the channels I used dried up, dirtbags.

toggletoggle post by SteveOTB   at Dec 27,2006 12:24pm
I have serious problems with my DC++ with connecting and downloading now. It's weird, I think having a wireless limits me or something because I'm not behind a firewall.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 27,2006 12:28pm
I can't ever find any good torrents or DC++

toggletoggle post by porphyria at Dec 27,2006 12:32pm

Torrents all the way. Occasionally I do rapidshare or whatever.

Rev, go to Kerrazy Torrents.

toggletoggle post by Dwellingsickness at Dec 27,2006 1:04pm
I tried torrents for like a week, 2 problems..... Every thing I downloaded was a corrupt file or had a fucking virus in it

toggletoggle post by Sinistas   at Dec 27,2006 1:05pm
Kerrazy is awesome.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 27,2006 1:08pm
I need a couple torents...
1) cattle decapitation: Homovore
2) anaal nathrakh

toggletoggle post by Dissector   at Dec 27,2006 1:10pm
I use Soulseek and love it.

toggletoggle post by Dwellingsickness at Dec 27,2006 1:12pm
Ditto

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Dec 27,2006 1:18pm
What are your Soulseek names?

toggletoggle post by pam nli at Dec 27,2006 1:20pm
I use slsk sometimes, but I prefer not having to deal with people at all when I download. Or wait for that matter.

I'm not on my computer that has it but if I remember correctly it's either Zombie Rots or zombie rots (because names are case sensitive)

I'm xSteveOTBx on Soulseek.

toggletoggle post by DeRtOxIa   at Dec 27,2006 2:45pm
DC++ all the way. the Grind hub always has over 1000 people in it and normally has around 50TB shared. Vomitcum is another hub for more obscure stuff. There's less people there but the stuff is higher quality. DC++ is the way to go.

Isohunt.com is the motherload of all torrents.

*
Ive heard soulseek was lame. Something about waiting in line unless you were a paying member?? Is that right?
Is it a p2p?

toggletoggle post by Dwellingsickness at Dec 27,2006 2:51pm
Bitcomet is where I got like 3 viruses in a week

ya same here....weird.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Dec 27,2006 3:18pm edited Dec 27,2006 3:19pm
I guess youd be more prone to viri by dling apps and progs....I rarely do this, so I cant make a fair judgement.

Or are you talking movies? I know Movie companies leak their own rip, compleete with fancy viri.

toggletoggle post by ConquerTheBaphomet  at Dec 27,2006 5:42pm
I use Soulseek. I just got it recently so I'm still trying to figure it out. My name on it is ConquerTheBaphomet.

toggletoggle post by demondave at Dec 28,2006 12:36pm
I am on Soulseek all of the time. My username is mr thirsty. I like it's lack of involvement. I don't have to contact people and beg them or ask permission or anything like that. I am specifically interested in demos and soundboards/radio broadcasts. The kind of stuff that exists, but you can not buy.

Torrents seem interesting, but don't you have to contact people or something like that? If you have to ask people for permission or hunt them down, than it seems like a pain in the ass. A lot of people love being minature little tyrants in cyberspace, instead of enjoying spreading music they love.

So, primarily I am in soulseek and on newsgroups. Due to this I have filled up over 400GB with music.

If anyone feels like poining out the benefits of Torrents let me know. I am interested.

toggletoggle post by chris_from_shit_fuck  at Dec 28,2006 4:51pm
torrents. Best way to go, or if you're a computer geek DC++ is pretty awesome too.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Dec 28,2006 4:56pm
DC++ you can find anything there unlike with torrents where stuff dries up... Grindcore.no-ip.org is a good hub

The thing is about torrents is that people have to be seeding it.. So the peak of a torrents download rate isn't right away. But if it is something that is in demand ALL THE TIME! You will be able to get it whenever.. Try any discography's of Carcass or Cannibal Corpse.

When a torrent is released and is forgotten about, that is when you have to do more hunting. And for me if I want it that bad I go to amazon.com and find a used copy dirt cheap.

I got the whole John Coltrane Discography on a Torrent... It took around two weeks but it was well worth it.. 50+albums.

are there any better torrent programs (that are spyware free) than
http://www.bittorrent.com/

it only allows 3 downloads at a time.

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Jan 1,2007 1:13pm edited Jan 1,2007 1:13pm
i use a generic torrent prog called transmisison, and google mixed together. its a pretty good system for big downloads.

toggletoggle post by metalguy at Jan 1,2007 1:25pm
µTorrent

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 1,2007 3:07pm
I never looked at the files I downloaded from you alex, but now as I'm looking, most of the albums I want aren't full albums! and the naming scheme for each track is completely different.

toggletoggle post by revymous at Jan 1,2007 3:09pm

toggletoggle post by Dwellingsickness NLI at Jan 1,2007 7:35pm

I use deathrash.proboards52.com

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jan 2,2007 8:55am
I use the one where I goto shows and buy cds off bands so they can have the money to fund their bands.

Limewire is killing me lately. No matter what I search for I get 700 matches for "How to Land a Girl" and another 50 for "Steven Speilburg Prank Phonecall ---- Hilarious". I'll be lucky if the search returns anything even close to what I was originally looking for, and if I try to download it doesn't have enough sources. It's starting to remind me of the later days of Kazaa when I couldn't search for anything without "Cum Fiesta" appearing as a result.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Jan 2,2007 9:46am
f'in cum fiesta lol
