i need to find a way to be at this... might have to call a sick day at work
shallow water grave is awesome. simple as that. they have been a band for years and most of their time together has been spent writing. very good stuff.

ok, because them and Ignite the Will are more than likely playing the show as well.
agreed, but the girl who I'm putting on this show with gets mad and threatens to take her name off the venue if she doesn't get her way.
so basically, she's the one putting on the show, but I have my foot in the proverbial door with the venue owners.
i'll put my foot up her proverbial....
i mean, commin correct... in a positive direction.
How many of these bands are hardcore? I don't want to spend half the time there listening to generic played-out breakdowns over and over again.
BBA is beatdown style i.e. more groves and slams than cheesey cheeseburger mosh parts. Neon Hookers is faster hardcore, not like powerviolence, but still minus the football riffs.
from South(boston/rhode island):
take 95-N into NH and then take Exit 4(left hand exit) onto rt. 16
then take Exit 7(rt.108 toward DOVER / DURHAM) and take a left.
You'll pass a Store 24, then the high school, and after about half a mile, you'll want to look for the Elk Lodge signs on your left.
WARNING: it will come out of nowhere and if you see a Fence Building company, it will be right there.
If you see a pre-school, you've gone to far.
from East(nashua/manchester):
take rt.101 east to Exit 7(rt.125) toward Epping/Kingston.
Take a left under the overpass and go by the mcdonalds and walmart.
You'll reach a roundabout and take the first exit onto rt.4 east.
Take the 108 ramp towards Dover/Newmarket.
Take a left under the overpass.
After about a half a mile, look for the Elks Lodge on your right. If you reach a Store 24, you've gone too far.
from North(portland/kittery):
take 95 south and then take Exit 7 toward BUSINESS DIST./PORTSMOUTH /NEWINGTON.
Turn Right onto Market St.
Stay Straight to go onto US-4 W / NH-16 N / SPAULDING TURNPIKE. Continue to follow rt.16 North.
Take Exit 7 to rt.108 and then take a left.
You'll pass a Store 24, then the high school, and after about half a mile, you'll want to look for the Elk Lodge signs on your left.

yes this is josh, andy and i will be heading over there around 5:30 if i can get out of work early enough
and yes aaron peppelis will have the chance to make fun of andy and i the whole night for going to shows exclusively with eachother and how cute he thinks it is.
ignite the will: I was walking in and I thought their was just a CD on, but in fact it was this band. The sound was pretty quiet. I could have almost stood around with no earplugs on. They sounded sort of like since the flood. When I got in the entire place was a gigantic rainbow of people. Obviously, some moshing had been going on. There was a little bit during the rest of their set, but mostly, it just ended with Will (dysentery) having a dumb fight with 18 people.
mammon machine, the: they took along time to set up. Especially when it's only 2 dudes and some electronic gear. The mix was pretty bad. Aaron's vocals were 90% inhales so he had to have the mic cranked. This caused a lot of feedback during their set. The guitar also seemed to change volumes a lot and wasn't nearly loud enough. That's basically all the negative stuff I could think of. Now, the samples were awesome. Some of them reminded me of the ambient stuff that in dire need is doing (newest CD). Aaron's vocals went from inhales to screams easily and quickly. The inhales reminded me of the pitch-shifted gore-grind I've seen at the past few MDF, but he wasn't pitch shifted at all. The guitar riffs on the other hand reminded me of some of the best riffs that deicide had pulled out over the years. I think once these guys get a drummer set for live shows, they are going to be loved by people who like porphyria and in dire need.
this is revenge: I thought CSL was playing, but I was just some of their members. this band ruled. Not much of a chance for the mosh to be brought, but it was more like the hardcore music that the hope conspiracy or modern life is war does. They are going to have a new song on myspace next week. Can't wait.
Dysentery: I had no clue that spaldino was playing with them again. Wow. He was all big and spaldino-y. Their set was pretty damn sloppy. It sounded good, I mean, it's dysentery. They have a super sweet sound to them, but it all sort of blended together. They even played one song into part of another that they had already played from a different song.. People moved for them and Will called everyone faggots.
I missed them and I think shallow water grave. traffic, work, and stuff. as I look around this place, I can't help but think "what is myspace doing now that 1/2 it's people are at a show?"
betrayed by all: awesome to see these dudes outside of brockton. This time they had people dancing for them. Frankie still called everyone faggots, but they did in fact move quite a bit. Sean seemed a bit frustrated... All the people were dancing way back and he had no one to kick but the air as he ran back and forth while playing. they lay it down nice and old school... like early madball... please never think adding rapping is a good idea. it's not.
shot down sun: they had some technical issues and took a while to set up/get going. The only thing bad about their set besides that was the fact they played a song called leprosy. That's a sacred title! Their second song was the song they have a video for "l'm not dead". Much like you've heard people say, their music is very JFAC-ish. It really sounds good, but very JFAC. They used to have a lot more of the BDM melodic carcass stuff, but it seemed not anymore. There was only one part of one song that I heard it in. People moshed, girls and gay dude struck poses at the front, and there was plenty of people (ctb and nick) singing along.

I should have stuck around, but there was no beer or whiskey and I was like the oldest person there.
neon hookers, the: what an awesome band. This type of hardcore music is really my favorite now a days. Like outbreak, coa, the limit. like all those bands, their set was way too short. The singer had a diatribe bashing ms and people who worry about trivial things (just say it *sniff- like rttp pictures!). watching people 2-step for them is awesome too. bands like this are the modern day embodiment of what the originators of punk-hardcore were trying to do.
ther set ended on a down note as a drug enforcement squad was on the way or something. people weren't allowed out side. Dudes, smoke them now if you got them. I hear there are cavity searches on the way out. Joy! I'm not really sure if that happened, but I figure I should type it so if I am killed, someone came piece together my last few minutes of life from my review and erie dreams. Possibly figuring out hat happened to me and who my killer is. I'm going to guess it was cornel mustard in the study with a wrench.

I think I'm older than you, I'm sure we've had this converstaion before.

this band is consisted of 90% when legends die.
will is a good kid.

and then there were none: they have the most expensive equipment at this show. The second they clicked on, you could definitly hear the difference in the sound quality.their set was short and sweet. People sang, I dodged moshers, moshers dodged me and in the end, they did an extra song with the lights on.
one thing I learned from this show, don't eat 3 large oranges a couple hours before a show. no-sir-ree-bob

im pretty sure will was the only one in when legends die...
mammon machine was pretty sick.
betrayed by all, was pretty fucking dope in my opinion-
def had that sick old school mad ball sound.
sorry to all those who thought dyentery was sloppy,
we have only had about 6, true practices, and granted at those practices we probably do more drinking than anything else.
eric had to borrow some doods drum set, that kept shitting out on him, which kinda threw things off.
it was basically a chance for us to unleash some new material--
all in all a great time- good to see some old friends. nice pics rev.
thanks to everyone who came out to my show last night! we made a lot more than we expected and got to pay all the band more than we had intended!
anyone have suggestions on who to book next time?(feb.18th)

Lynchie told me he talked to a guy who used to be in Fault, and he liked our band. That's the best shit I've ever heard.
Thanks to everybody for coming out, introducing yourself, and giving some time to a band that doesn't sound like Chain of Strength. I know that's hard to do sometimes.

whats up with the beer at the all age show...
i'm all for if you want to have a beer and all but not at an all age show
remember Since the Flood a few month back?
overall i think everyone did great, especially SDS and ATTWN. Honor thy fallen had a good first show too, and i was surprised and glad to see Ignite the Will there.
