Good thing i'll be totally done with it in 5 days
I'm taking it back to NJ (hopefully it will make it there) to trade with my mom's jeep grand cherokee. It's stalling like CRAZY now. At very high speeds. Now there's this loud pop/knock when it stalls. The engine will just stall out when i'm diong like 70. I took it to MOnro this morning but the crack team of specialists couldnt tell me what it was. There's also this gurgly, tinny sound when I accelerate...almost sounds like a motorcycle engine or some shit. What sucks is i have to play a show in Hudson, NY tonight. I'm sure i'll figure somethin out. Anyway, does anyone know what that problem could be. I just tried to start it and it took me a couple minutes to get it going. I know its NOT an electrical problem.

injectors, fuel filter/pump, i know you said its not electrical, but check to see if your distributor cab is tightened down good. i had a bad knock in my dakota for a while that i couldnt figure out, until i changed the spark plugs/cables. also in that area, make sure you dont have any vaccum hose leaks if your distributor is timed via vaccum advance. sometimes the stupidest shit will fuck your ride up hardcore.

p.s. because i had a loose distributor, i got the truck at a super low price of 700 bucks. now it runs sweet. go me

that's really low milage for problems like this. the ping sounds like someone didn't change the oil enough. stalling is probably a clogged injector or fuel line. though I wouldn't be surprised is there is some junk or water in your oil pan.

though like ctb0 said, it could be your distributor or sparkplug wires. sometimes you get corrosion on the plug wire (especially if you don't seal them with the silicon). once that starts, it just snowballs cause arching current causes more oxidizing. then you get it up to 70 and there isn't enough spark jumping the corrosion and it stalls.

I say call Click and Clack.

ps: you are a pussy for not driving stick.

well, u just had a tuneup so the plugs and wires are brand new
i honestly think its a clogged injector or fuel line
it sounds like the pop/knock is coming from under the hood on the passenger side
