What do you think?

And while I'm at it.

Go to this, it's our last Drifters show EVER!

Also we're in need of some more shows. We only have 2 lined up for the next 3 months. Preferably ALL AGES and Legion/Hall shows. We're dying to play a hall show. Anyone got anything?

You're not death metal. That is a death metal design.

I like band logos you can read without squinting and staring at it like a Magic Eye picture, waiting for the letters to all come into focus.

the logo doesn't really fit the style of music, as CTB said. maybe that's what you're going for?

also, from an artist's perspective (who has done 8 million logos), that is a visual travesty. i don't mean to insult you, your band, or whoever did the logo, but this is just my honest critique. there isn't much continuity or any genuinely solidified aspects to the entire logo. the weight is distributed very awkwardly and i guarantee it would look even more awkward in print on a shirt, sticker, etc. there are many other techniques to use in order to achieve a dynamic logo

I agree with everybody else in this thread.

tribal?

Yeah the logo is more death metal feeling. I mean we're not straight up death metal but we draw influences from it. I think the logo is cool, maybe you're all right about it not fitting our style. My bassist designed it. Personally I'm not a fan of death metal logos because some you just can't even make out for instance "Waking The Cadaver". I like logos that you can actually read. I can read this logo and can't at the same time, it's weird.

Here's the old logo I made, I almost think it's kindof plain though.

Maybe we'll try it out, if more people don't like it then maybe we'll think of something else.

the old one is plain as you said, but i'd personally rather use that than the new logo. i understand what you're saying about logos like waking the cadaver's, but that's not even a real death metal logo. all of those ridiculously overly technical mess logos are just part of the trend of "nu death."

I actually like it alot because it's not like one of the typical logos you see round here.

It may not fit your music style, and it may have an unorthadox shape, but it's very unique.

on the other hand, it reminds me of a band logo that would be on psychopathic records (ICP, twiztid, ect).

God I fucking hate clown rap.

forgive me if this comes off harsh at all, but why would you want a logo that's so unlegible? even if you were a deathmetal band. i like the old logo actually. i would stick with that. but that's just one mans opinion.

The old one is more legible but yeah it's just missing something. I don't know, as of late I have ran out of ideas as of artwork for the band. Logos isn't my strongest point I design for print and web rather than identity.

OK just for that I'm scratching the logo lol.

Actually if you look closely it resembles a fish for some reason.

Ohh and also out of sheer boredom I made this.

Mark do you specalize in death metal logos or can you design anything off a certain basis? What's your going rate?

toggletoggle post by Niccolai   at Dec 12,2006 1:22pm
Mark can do pretty sweet non-deathmetal artwork. He did the Pull The trigger logo on our stickers.

He's pretty good at painting fish if you ever want any in your bathroom or anything.

Do you have a picture of that logo by any chance?

I've always had the idea in my head of designing a logo based on the styles we mix which would be Progressive Metal, Death Metal, Thrash, and Hardcore. No idea where to begin on that though.

I don't have the picture online, maybe mark does.

It's a pretty straight forward plain logo with kindof a broken glass with a bullet hole look. It was pretty much exactly what we were going for.

i can pretty much do anything you need. death metal logos are the brunt of the work i do, but i'm getting a bit tired of bands saying they want the same logo as the last band. email me and we'll discuss. i'll try uploading the pull the trigger logo.

and yes, i am the master of fish painting, haha
