ZIRCON
This Worcerster act is innately of death metal origin with plenty of slings of black metal
spit into the mix, which seems all too appropriate seeing as they dwell in the hometown
of the New England Metal & Hardcore Fest. While not conquering monumental heights with
this short skin-shredder, Zircon is a relentless demonstration of black-tangled-thrash with a warrior's
attitude. Some muted-harmony breakdowns haunted by the most cavernous low-end vox
and a swirling buildup in the second track "Exploration of the Mind" was possibly the most
supremely evil humans-becoming-meatloaf mosh moments of this month's entire column.
Zircon blend influences from Immortal, Vital Remains, Gorgoroth, Skinless, Dawn of Azazel,
Kult ov Azazel, and all kinds of remorseless, frigid decimation of the death/black ascension
in a hurtling deathstomp.

I love Zircon. The review should have been more clear... dubious indeed. I don't quite understand "metaloaf mosh moments." None the less, they had a write up, which is awesome!!! |

ha, my vote would go to revocation (best local metal) and polaris (best local prog), but goreality and zircon are excellent local bands. |

Hahahahaha. The way I take the article is humans being pounded into meatloaf in the mosh pit during that Death Metal Break Down part in Exploration of the Mind.
