there are a couple wires at the hinge of the top that have been known to get cut as the top opens and closes. my speakers haven't worked for a year, but it just shorted out something, there was a spark and no more LCD light.
yeah! spending a ton of $$ on a new laptop is just what I wanted to do right now! yeah!

toggletoggle post by Dylan Klebold at Nov 25,2006 2:31pm
saw 1 in the austin chronicle for $99,used.

toggletoggle post by pam   at Nov 25,2006 2:32pm
My left hinge is broken, my screen randomly falls backward. It's awesome. Go laptops.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Nov 25,2006 2:34pm
As long as you're happy.

toggletoggle post by Dylan Klebold at Nov 25,2006 2:39pm
Laptops,from Lapland two nights only.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 2:52pm
yeah, what I need to buy to replace this laptop will be able $1700. I would know the exact ammount, but my lappy doesn't work and my phone doesn't like www.dell.com

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 25,2006 2:55pm
ummmmmmmmm why not just get a new lcd light they are like 80 bucks i think

toggletoggle post by Dylan Klebold at Nov 25,2006 2:57pm
ricky,julian,bubbles,donkeres,now i'm hooked.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 3:01pm
ahahahahahaha. last time I pricedreplacing the LCD on a laptop, it costs as much as the laptop ($999)m that was last year. I have the LCD apart, I'm looking for anything that looks like sparks came from it. I'm hoping that I can find a snowman without his hat on.

I'm probably going to get a nice little lappy and then use this one with a LCD monitor as a desktop with a USB harddrive case (since my desktop burmt out lastmonth)

75 plus parts? for cable and inverter replacement?

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 25,2006 3:06pm
dude if u peel of the white part on the back of the lcd there is a neon bulb looking thing in there
u dont need to replace the lcd just the light and cable

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 25,2006 3:06pm
unless u smashed the lcd

toggletoggle post by Dylan Klebold at Nov 25,2006 3:07pm
play some marilyn manson or rammstein.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 3:17pm
the LCD is fine.. I think it's the ligh controller card. that's where the spark came from.

and I think you are missing the deal. 75 is for the labor. a 12.1 xwvga is $$$ that's where all the cost comes in. the "parts" would be hundreds.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 3:21pm

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 3:22pm

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 25,2006 3:23pm
u dont have to buy the lcd if its not cracked... so there is "little" $$ involved. i read the 75$ plus parts look at my post. its gonna be like 50-100 bucks parts from them if u want someone who does it for a living to do it. so like 200 in all what are the specs on the computer?

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 25,2006 3:25pm
find out the model # i have like 3 laptops here that are dismantled ur welcome to have their inverters one has a smashed lcd and lights up

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 3:26pm

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 25,2006 3:31pm
think its only for 12.1 inch?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 3:31pm

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 25,2006 3:32pm
get it then

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 25,2006 3:33pm
shit i should sell this stuff

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 25,2006 3:37pm
this says its for a Samsung LTN121W1-L01 i have one from a Samsung LTN121X1-L02 think itll work?

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 25,2006 3:38pm
its an apple inverter off an ibook but it might be the same part just made by apple

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 3:46pm
I don't know the apples weren't xwvga.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 3:47pm
I'm pretty sure I'm just going to use my work laptop for now and then hook this one up to an LCD panel. I don't know.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 4:08pm

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 8:54pm
ha! yeah,

the part I need Is a samsung part. my laptop's gone everywhere with me for over 2 years now. so I'm more than pleased with it. I wanted to wait until atleast feb to get a new lappy. I really want a quad core 3GHz with SATAII 200gb drive and 2GB ram... but whatever.
cire 2 prices are going to drop in jan or feb

toggletoggle post by anonymousteinberg at Nov 25,2006 9:43pm
Get a Lenovo or Averatech. About $800 less for roughloy the same stats and higher machine quality (durability, engineering, etc)

toggletoggle post by ConquerTheBaphomet  at Nov 25,2006 10:08pm
Did you want a cookie or a pat on the back, Aaron?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 25,2006 11:59pm
I want a working laptop. IBM's are for chinaamen now.

toggletoggle post by anonymousteinberg at Nov 26,2006 12:06am
What dysfunction have you experienced with Lenovos?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 12:12am
well, I've had an IBM for 3 years and I'm on hard drive #3, motherboard #3 and keyboard #2.
lenovos are also twice the price for the same specs. I priced out a comparable lenovo (even with the current "excellent" deal) and it was super $$$$.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 1:11am
looking at the Lenovo 3000 V100... and the gateway comparable. the gateway got better reviews.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 1:12am
blah! both the gateway and the lenovo don't come with 720rpm SATA hard drives. screw that. the gateways do have tablet PCS though.. I've always wanted a tablet!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 1:58am
fuck gateways... they don't have core 2 duos in thier 12.1"s

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 2:00am edited Nov 26,2006 2:01am
fudge

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 26,2006 2:02am

toggletoggle post by sxealex   at Nov 26,2006 2:04am
u really should get bluetooth on your compy its pretty useful... 'specially the edr one

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 2:26am
cause my work pays for them all. not me.

my 2 ones above have bluetooth built in. the lenovocomes with a thumbprint reader. I like that.

CYBERFUCKINGMONDAY REV

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 8:22am
yeah, dell deals on this monday.

toggletoggle post by infoterror  at Nov 26,2006 10:14am
Weird. I've used an IBM for five years, no problems. It's sad to admit, but a friend has a Dell with a similar record. Even the Compaqs seem to work OK these days. I would never buy anything from Gateway.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 10:43am
my work dell had the same exact record (down to the # of failures) as my IBM. all the parts are made by like 2 companies anyhow.

toggletoggle post by infoterror  at Nov 26,2006 11:46am
It's true. It seems that way in every industry. Kind of boring.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 12:04pm
wlcome to america, home of the whopper, the melting pot, and a contract to the lowest bidder.

toggletoggle post by infoterror  at Nov 26,2006 12:22pm
Lowest minority bidder, that is.
America as it is doesn't have long to last.
That much history shows us.
Our future is... Mexico; and thus, our future ends.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 12:31pm
I think we got about 10-20 years before our decline. then there will be 2-3 other "super powers"

it's going to be fun! can't wait! someday, I'll be 65, hunting for scraps and wearing dirty cloths.

toggletoggle post by Messerschmitt at Nov 26,2006 12:34pm
this is what i've been saying all along. get ready. get your guns loaded for the chinks are the one's we should be watching.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 26,2006 12:40pm
they will out math you guns.

toggletoggle post by anonymousteinberg at Nov 26,2006 3:59pm
10-20 years sounds about right according to the timeline in The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion

Practice your Hebrew! And Chinese... they've always been the real contender to the superpower throne.

Oh and don't forget almost every nation on earth will have nukes, so make that "65, hunting for scraps and wearing dirty clothes surrounded by radiation and mutants."

toggletoggle post by Mess at Nov 27,2006 9:44am
anything yet?

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Nov 27,2006 7:12pm
well..you know what i came home too

carina

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 27,2006 7:26pm
yeah.. hard drives are hella lame.

toggletoggle post by anonymousteinberg at Nov 27,2006 8:30pm
Hard drives won't matter after the Chinese invade. You will have to use ancient Jewish art of Torah-encoding on parchment. Oy, those Jews. Only the best(tm).

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 27,2006 9:23pm
I tried the torah and it didn't work.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 27,2006 9:23pm
what I need is for a $750 off $1500 coupon.

toggletoggle post by Mess at Nov 28,2006 6:12am
tora tora!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 28,2006 4:21pm
now my work laptop is sounding like it's going to blow up!

toggletoggle post by elders of zion nli at Nov 28,2006 6:40pm
Blame the Arabs when it does, claim insurance, buy a new one.

See? G-d did help you in the form of a helpful Elder of Zion to solve all your silly little goyisch problems.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 28,2006 6:41pm
my work lappy is a IBM btw.
