the image quality of my photos is going to go up once I get this done. I'm coding over an issue with the old image library I wrote. can't wait to get it done.

of course... first try of winxp and the key didn't match.

finally got a working version!

awesome! I was running at 166MB of RAM used after the re-install.

then I installed googledesktop and it went to 196MB. I'm also switching from outlook express to thunderbird. going to test that thing out. it's importing 6GB of old emails to thunderbird right now. if I like thunderbird (since it has spam blocking built in), I might turn off 99% of the norton crap and

hm.. maybe I won't be using thunderbird.. it's importing my mail from OE to itself.. but 6GB of mail in OE is 25GB thusfar in thunderbird!

I let it get to 45GB and then killed it.
fixed an issue with a single file and now I've got it working again.
windows is also installing 64 patches!
