I realize we're coming from sort of different directions, but perhaps we can meet in the middle. I posted this about a month ago:
My name is Sean. I live in Lincoln, RI. I just graduated as a music major with a focus in sound recording from UMass Lowell. I've been playing guitar for about 8 years now. I know my jazz and classical theory. I'm looking to join a band or to find someone to write with, but basically I've got lots of song ideas I want to work with others on. My main influences are Opeth and Meshuggah, but also In Flames, Alice in Chains, Dying Fetus, Nevermore, Dimmu Borgir, At the Gates, Porcupine Tree, Darkane, Nintendo, Amon Amarth, In-Quest, Iniquity, Susperia blah blah blah... I like to write songs that include clean singing and harmonies, quiet acoustic parts, extremely brutal riffs, swedish thrashing, odd times and weird subdivisions, a wide range of death metal vox (gutteral, grindy, black metal-y), but most importantly always a feeling of bleakness, evilness or epicness. I'm into death, progressive, technical, thrash, black metal and grindcore. I'm dying to get back onstage. If need be and my computer willing, I may be able to scrape together a recording of my last project. Also I don't really want to drive hours to band practice. Email me epiphone-71@cox.net |

I should probably include the link to my most recent band...

"Cake Or Death" and "Red Tide" would be good examples of some of my riffs I guess... |
|
I also want to write about evilness.
Really, anyone who does not like EVILNESS is lame, unless they're also into EPICNESS. I'm also into GRIMNESS and lets not forget about LIFELESSNESS, COLDNESS, WINTERNESS, LAMENESS, and FUTILENESS.
btw, does Traphagan still teach in UMASS?
TRAPHAGAN. Now that's a cool fucking name! |
|
hmmm, I'm not really into lameness or futileness. Goodluck though! If you put your mind to it I bet you can be as lame as they come.
Never met any TRAPHAGANs. |
