i'm so fucking all over this shit

would you be able to hold it till the end of about october?

how come you're selling it?

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Oct 3,2006 8:28pm
possibly because the round bars cause slippage, causing the drums to sink from drumming.....but I dunno.
Thats why I'd sell it, personally.

Absolutely. I have no problem holding it for you if you actually plan on buying it. Why am I selling it?

Honestly, Powerkok's hit the nail on the head there, it's true. This rack is great for drum kits where the floor toms are actuall floor toms, not rack-mounted toms. I bought a new kit with 14" & 16" rack mounted floor toms, and that on top of the 137 cymbals I mount on the thing made it impossible to keep from slipping and breaking the memory locks. If you mount a couple drums and cymbals it's usually no big deal, but this...

is way too much for that kind of rack to hold up. My buddy had his kit on it for months, 2 toms and a couple of floor toms, and a couple of cymbals on the corner posts, and just one on the side, and he said there was never any slippage or anything, so it does still work well. Let me know if you're still interested and we'll set something up.

Yeah, who's got a nice rack?

I'll be honest, I think it's quite ridiculous actually. Half the time, I can't decide whether to keep adding shit because I like having so many different sound options handy, or just strip everything off and play a 4 piece kit with hi-hats, ONE crash, a ride and a couple of effects cymbals, just going back to basics. Almost every time I set this shit up, I stop and think "Man, this is fucking silly looking..." but then realize that I actually use all that bullshit at some point. Torn between simplicity and variety. Fuck.

How the hell did I go from this...

To this...

I'm an idiot who loves to spend money on gear, that's how.

In any case, the rack's still up for grabs dude, if you want it, drop me an email... theaccurseddrummer@gmail.com

"secthammer" You still interested in the rack? Let me know.

toggletoggle post by secthammer at Oct 5,2006 10:26pm
i am still interested in it, and w/ my new job i'm making a couple hundred a week, but my computer just crapped out and i really need to get a new one, so depending on how much i can save up will determine wether i get it or not by the end of october

Someone buy this thing, please. It's sitting in my front hall collecting dust and pissing my wife off.

Would it be able to hold 3 mounted toms 10,12,13 inch?

Yes sir it would. It's got 5 clamps that can be set wherever you want.

I may be interested then, I need a new/easeir way to hold and transport my set but I'm supser low on cash. So probably not...

Nice kit! What kind of sounds do you get from the sawblade?

The saw blade actually makes a sound similar to a small bell, or maybe the bell of a ride cymbal, only not as resonant. It's a really sharp & tight sound.

Plus, a bell costs what, $60-70? That was $2.75 at Home Depot. As soon as I can afford another rack clamp to replace the drum mounted cymbal clamps I've got now, I'll be adding another saw blade and a steel artillery shell. Still trying to figure a way to move everything closer together, more compact.

i found that if u want stuff to stay on these set it up the way u want then drill a hole through clamps and stick a bolt through... if u need to that is

toggletoggle post by Dissector   at Nov 27,2006 7:38am
Has anyone taken this yet?

Yeah, that does make sense, it would be pretty solid, I would just becareful and not use bolts that are too thick, the metal breaks pretty easily when there's a lot of weight on there, but a hole through it would make it even less sturdy. My biggest problem was when I mounted two floor toms and half a dozen cymbals all on one side of the rack, the weight would break the memory locks. It never messed up the structural integrity of the rack itself, but the bar would constantly roll forward because it was too heavy. Otherwise, the thing worked great for me.

Nope, nothing yet. A few bites here and there, but nobody committed to buying it.
