i dont care how much of an influence pantera had on numetal, they fuckin rock. i really think people have to stop categorizing bands based on their fan base. there's a bit of good metal in every subgenre.

i hate pantera because
1: dimebag is the #1 most overratted guitarist of all time.
2: i used to listen to pantera back in the day, so its not like i havnt heard them before, and i dont dislike them because of some label they have for being nu-metal, they just genuinly suck balls.
3: and phil is gay. i saw a video of him kissing whats his face from type o negative. he had pink hair. and they use confederate flags as they're band logo, and phil punched some kid for asking him to sign his old pantera record back when they were hair metal, the only thing they were decent at, playing cheesey hair metal.

sure, hendrix, stevie, two of the best guitarists of their times, but I think dimebag contributed his fair share of cool shit throughout the 90's. not many guitar players can play as tight as he can and write that many good tracks. there is no possible way he sucks. check the RS top 20 guitar players, the fucking white stripes guy is in the top 20. you'd probably agree with them.

i remember in high school some jocko kid threatened to kick my ass over something similar. i was explaining to him the video i saw of phil, and showed him the first three pantera albums before cowboys from hell, and he still didnt believe that they exsisted, or that phil had pink hair at one time, and wouldnt stop threatening to kick my ass for a week.
