New site? Maybe some day.
apparently theres a new 80gb ipod. I haven't seen it yet though. someone just posted about it on b9.
pretty soon there will be an ipod big enough to fit almost half of aaron's collection. |
soon they will be running windows and babysitting our kids. |

it's like HD quality dvd movies.
uh so i thought dvd was like high quality,so theres better? |
the new nano is 8 gigs and has a chasis similar to the old ipod mini. I like that.
maybe I'll buy one now. |
I put Striborg on my Shuffle and went jogging today.
It was grim. |
there is now. There's two different competing formats: HD-DVD and BluRay |

this confuses me |
you know how they have HD TV channels? well the quality of those is superior to any regular dvd, everything looks so clear even sitting a foot away from the tv.
well, they are making some dvd's that way now and the format is called blue ray i guess. |
blue ray = high capacity discs |
now i just dont want to belive it |
my 40gB iPod is about full and I've only got about 1/4 of my music in it. I need to wait for them to come out with a 100gB one before I commit to anything. I wish they would stop wasting time with useless features to make it look prettier and just make it be a huge hard drive that plays all of my music. |
i dont understand what the problem is. it's not like they have to reinvent the wheel to boost the capicity. the things just have a laptop hardrive in them. last time i checked they were up to around 500 or 600 GB hard drives. they could easily come out with a super high capacity ipod. but nooooooo it's more profitable for them to increase it in small jumps as if the technology is brand new or something. |
new ipod shuffle
and i swear on my life this isnt a photoshop....it really is that small |
fuckin shit, i wish i waited a bit longer. i just bought a 60 gig iPod like 3 weeks ago! i'm in the same boat you're in brian, only i haven't gotten around to putting all of my music on my iPod yet. i'm only to about half the capacity of the iPod, but only about 1/8 of my music collection |
I will have to wait for a huge one.
ooooo 80 gigs? Any idea how much they're gonna cost and when they're coming out cause I'm going iPod shopping in October. |
I think they are like cheap. Someone said they were cheaper than the 60s were when they came out.
maybe the apple store has the retail price listed somewhere.
edit: they are 350 at the applestore website. I'm sure some stores and online retailers will reduce the price also. |
That's it?? That makes my day. |
You know, suddenly being the only person that hasn't gotten an iPod yet isn't such a bad thing. |
I haven't gotten one either, I wanted to buy a 6 gig mini out of fear of destroying a regular ipod.
I was hoping they would release an 8 gig mini and they just discontinued them and made nanos instead.
the new nano looks ruggid like the mini, so maybe I'll get an 8 gig one of those. |

Oh I plan to buy the full warranty, and extend it after that. After going through 3 digital cameras and paying out of pocket for a new harddrive for my laptop...I have finally learned my lesson. |
the lesson is that companies make shoddy equiptment so that everyone has to buy it more than once. |
All Apple products use DRM technology, so if you are planning on using your iPod to play illegally downloaded music you may want to look into another brand of mp3 player.

is this new?
I've put downloaded music on my iPod before. 99% of my music I ripped though, and I DO NOT use iTunes, I use WinAmp (because it now has built-in support for the iPod) |

I dont think it's "new" necessarily. From some article I read last week, apparently DRM has been going into products for the past several years, but it can be remotely activated so it may not be doing anything yet. All the new high tech gadgets (TVs, Dvd players, Mp3 players etc.) this Christmas are gonna be equipped with DRM, so expect demonstrators at the mall. |
I wish the ipods would work more like iTunes. it really pisses me off that you can't click on the artist or record and then have it play just that. when you are done, click again and it goes back to playing everything. (like the search box in itunes) |
DRM = |
it took them 8hrs to crack the newest DRM... who cares? |
I bet Magic Johnson cares.
