What do you use to convert songs from a CDR to MP3s? I was told you can download free programs for this but im not sure how to go about it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can rip them to .mp3s in Windows Media Player, that's probably the easiest way. A lot of people are under the illusion that WMP only rips to .wmv, which is not true.

I use CDex...one of those free programs. Just google it. WMP works, too.

Windows Media Player is a douchebag.

Here you have it:

Maximize your WMP so it's full screen.

Go into Tools.
Go into Options.
Go into Rip Music tab.

You can choose your media format in the dropdown menu and also choose bit rate quality with the slider. Go with .mp3, or lossless for the best quality (and biggest file sizes, unfortunately).

Then go back into your Rip tab and rip away.

I actually don't use it for most operations, but it works well enough for making .mp3s.

I think last time I converted something to MP3, I used Itunes

you can indeed use iTunes. i believe it's in the "Advanced" menu option. it should be free to download from www.apple.com

ya, WMP is the way I do it.
Also, acid, vegas, does it.

And also...for the time that Drink hard took to explain it to you, and you being a total noob, you should fucking thank him!
