I just bought the game two days ago, after telling myself I wouldn't for years.

I'm still a n00b, but I've played these things before. I'm on DarkIron, Dwarven Priest. In a week or so I'll be decent.

Cool, because a few million women also play it.

toggletoggle post by hung_to_bleed   at Aug 13,2006 8:29pm
I played it for one week when I had a free week trial using my friends dics of the game. I thought it was cool and all, but to pay $15 or so a month or whatever it costs I really couldn't imagine that it would be all that worth it. I'm fucking floored that my new graphics card cannot play PREY, that is the best fucking game ever made.

I know a few Hot girls who play...I can think of four off the top of my head..

I do get surprised when a hot chick does play wow

I know several extremely hot girls that play. Also, half the women who play are Asian, and they are simply not 200 pounds.

I think there are around 6 million players worldwide now.

I'm not touchy at all....I thought that it was funny...and at the same time quite alluring. I'll have to talk to her about the wizard hat thing. We'd probably just end up laughing ourselves out of bed.

Hmmmm.....wizard hats and maybe a staff with a dildo on the end of it. Hahahahahahahaha...that's a funny picture.

visually WoW is astounding, I lose intrest due to a monthly fee to play online. I prefer games that have no monthly charge (Guidwars, Counterstrike Source, Unreal Tournament 2004, Quake 3, Quake 4, etc...) I figure if I'm gonna pay $50 for the game, why should I have to shell out another +/-$10 a month to play it?

toggletoggle post by swinesack at Aug 14,2006 9:47am
I've been clean for 2 months now. Thank god.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Aug 14,2006 9:47am edited Aug 14,2006 9:50am
The price has gone down.

I bought WoW for $20, you can buy it for $30 at GameStop. You would be playing WoW MORE than enough to justify the $15/month. Think of it this way...you play $50 for a new Final Fantasy game and it lasts 30, maybe 40 hours. You'll play WoW for 30 hours/WEEK and only be paying $15/month. Not to mention WoW is the type of game that you could play exclusively, saving yourself any money you'd spend on any other games, for months. Because it is that addictive. I have friends that bought WoW and have not bought another game over two years except maybe Oblivion. That's a lot of savings compared to blowing $200/month on games.

Not that I plan to stop buying other games, I always will for the different experiences, but for most people who only buy a few games per year, WoW is certainly worth the money. It's obviously fun enough that a million or more people have been paying monthly for it since 2004...

You would LOVE WoW, Mark, and even if you only played for 3 months, got to level 60 and quit, that would be a total of $50-60 for 100s of hours with a fun experience (less $$$ than a metalfest which is over in less than a weekend). Ask Matt hahaha. He lived that game for a year or more, he may STILL be living the game for all I know.

Guild Wars might not have a monthly charge, however that is deceptive. You're looking at $80-100 for GW and GW: Factions expansion, you could buy WoW, which is a better game, and play it for 3-5 months for the same price.

you may be right, but paying for my wedding puts a serious damper on expendable cash (I'm also saving for new cabs, because my peavey cab sucks).

but not only is cash a premium for me right now, so is time, between Shroud, my 2 side projects, planning my wedding and spending time with my fiancee I rarely have time to sit dow and check my e-mail, let alone game for a couple of hours.

maybe I'll give WoW a shot eventually, but for the time being, I'm gonna have to pass.

everyone in my band was addicted to this for a while. holy nerd freak out.

It's a downright amazing game. I have been playing online games for about 7 years...including CS, MOH, COD I and II, Ghost Recon, Quake, Half Life, Battlefield 1942 and Desert Ops......just to name a few. I'll tell you that WoW smokes all of these games put together. The visuals, sound player to player dialogue....UNREAL.

If this makes me a nerd...then I'm a complete fucking nerd. WoW is like real life in so many ways....

1.) It's a bitch.

The rest of it you have to eat, rest, fight, learn professions, travel (sometimes very far.) Make money, pay for new stuff that you want, deal with assholes etc...etc...

Killer game....I knocked it for so long when my friends kept telling me to go get it. I was the dummy...as far as online gaming is concerned, this takes the cake and VERY well worth the $15 per month to play.

Only downfall.....it takes 6 discs and nearly 3 hrs. to upload into your system after all of the online updates AND chews up an INSANE amount of hard drive space and RAM. So unless you have a gig of RAM and a good sound card....try something like solitaire, because this game will NOT even be close to playable / tolerable to play if you don't.

Taht's my review, and when I get home from work tonight...I will be in Alter of Storms working on my 27 Warlock. I need to be a 40 Warlock quick so I can get my mount

There are only 2 types I think.....the type who will one day be bagging my groceries, and the type that won't. I like to keep things simple.

It was fucking painful to DL.....after the disc set was in it too about 1 hr. just to DL the patches from Blizzards site.

It's worth it so far though, the only graphic MMORPGs I have experience with before this were Ultima Online (for a month) and Dark Age of Camelot, which was amazing (World of Warcraft is very heavily influenced by Dark Age) but I got in on the tail end of DAoC so all the graphics were updated, expansions were out, patches made and no major traffic on the servers. I loved that game to death, and the same thing is happening with me and WoW, probably because they are so similar but WoW has a nice paintjob and some nice tweaks.

This kind of thing is the problem with group raids in any MMORPG. You have your jackass min/max players who only care about 'winning', and will constantly harass you if you're in their group and your specs aren't up to maximum in EXACTLY the way they would do it. These guys are the REAL antisocials who have had all the time to pour into their hobby. Proof that nerds aren't the only people who play games, as these individuals are clearly of the jock mindset. "I'll make ya proud dad, I'll score a touchdown and win the game."

I ignore shitkriegs like this constantly and play with friends or other players who just want to relax and have fun, since it's a GAME and not the stock market. I don't care about the end game so much as the journey there.

American society is changing for the worse because of the machines… In the past to flee the real world people usually chose drugs or alcohol… now you don’t have to do that, Now all you have to do is have enough money to buy a machine…

Basically what you have is a large portion of the population, mostly younger people under the age of 45, who don’t deal with reality - ever. So they don’t know what day it is; they don’t know temperature it is; they don’t know what their neighbor looks like. They don’t know anything… because they are constantly diverted by a machine. Now what this does is it takes a person away from reality because they’ve created their own reality…
