I replaced the crappy Ibanez INF pickups with the Seymour Duncan hot-rodded pickup set (SH-2 in the neck and SH-4 in the bridge):

Also installed a DiMarzio ClipLock strap (camoflauge pattern).

I bought the guitar brand new at Guitar Center. I am the only owner and comes from a smoke-free environment. No scratches or dings. The guitar with the upgraded pickups and the ClipLock strap is all worth over $725, but ever since I bought my Schecter I haven't picked this guitar up, so Im letting it go to someone that wants a new Ibanez with killer pickups in it. I just cleaned it and treated the fretboard with lemon oil, changed the strings (GHS boomers 10's) and adjusted the neck last night. Comes with a fabric gig bag.

if it was the floyded version, i would be much more interested.

i dont dig floyds, I bought the fixed bridge on purpose. Besides, Ibanez guitars don't usually come with a real Floyd Rose unless you are spending thousands of dollars.

those seymours are crappier than the inf's.
they are just stock seymours, no big deal.
Also...Ive never seen that guitar w/o a floyd, so thats strange, but the edge lo pro is a sweet trem system, as good as any floyd, imo.

kok, that's not a real edge, or a lo pro...They don't make the lo pro anymore, it's now the Edge PRO.

The trem on that guitar is the EDGE II which is lower end. They are made of cheaper metal than the edge pro. If it hasn't become unstable yet, it probably will, if not then you're a lucky one. heh. My giger had the Edge II and it turned into junk a month or two after using it.

yeah, its downright crazy to ever think that a stock ibanez pickup would ever be better than any duncan pickup, ever. you make it sound like duncans are horrible pickups.

and ibanezes dont come with floyds, period. no matter how much money you spend, ibanez makes their own trems which in my opinion can hold up to a lot of original floyds.

I had stock duncans in my old esp....compared to the inf's they sounded shittier thru my rig.
Im all about EMG's anyway, so it dosent much matter to me.

Ibanez makes decent guitars if you feel like spending over $1500. Even then they arent as good as they used to be.... the Steve Vai Jem has gone up in price and it doesnt even come with an Ebony fretboard anymore.

how do the symors pu's sound compared to EMG 81s or 85?

the EMGs are more expensive because of the technology used in them.


the duncans are going to have less output than an 81/85, but still work extremely well for metal. i have the duncan JB in 2 of my guitars, i think theyre great pickups.
