toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jul 10,2006 9:37pm
At least five more bands just like them.

what makes most of the guys on this board that dont like modern hardcore like blood for blood and sheer terror? i'm curious why metal kids seem to be okay with these hardcore bands but hate lots of others.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jul 10,2006 10:31pm
I think it's because a lot of modern hardcore bands have more of the modern metal sound, with semi techy breakdowns and crap. That's why I don't care for most of it, personally.

toggletoggle post by tbone_r nli at Jul 10,2006 10:31pm
that's cool. what do you think of bands like outbreak, dropkick murphy's or none more black?

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jul 10,2006 10:32pm
I don't care for Blood for Blood too much, but they were at least refreshing.

Sheer Terror was an old band though, and were considered pretty extreme for their time.

I'm just getting a little tired of Br00tech. It's talented shit, and I wish a lot of those bands the best, but give me songs. Songs, damnit.

i think it's the fact that bands like sheer terror and blood for blood are stripped down to the nitty gritty, and came out during a time when not much else like that was really making an impact. now, there are waaay too many hardcore bands or bands trying to be hardcore that just don't have anything special to them, whether it be trying too hard to be old school, trying too hard to be intimidating, or being just plain annoying. also, back then, there wasn't such a great divide between good hardcore and metal. the surroundings have changed on many levels. that's the simplest explanation can think of

Not a lot of hardcore sounds mean to me anymore.

That's all I ask of metal and hardcore. Sound FUCKING MEAN. Or at least write some good goddamn riffs so I can remember your song later.

I liked DKM when they were streetpunk. Not so much now that they sound like generic irish pub rock.

I've never heard of None More Black.

My bassist played me Outbreak. She's more into the new stuff and goes to the Brockton shows. I like them, I wish we could play shows with them and get into that scene... but it's not happening for us.

haha, fuckin right. which is why trying too hard to be tough just makes you completely fluffy and nice to cuddle with.
