Just got back from seeing it. We had free screening passes for Imax. Hot damn that was a good flick. It was no Batman Begins but it sure was fun. A good 20 minutes of it was in 3D too. I don't think the 3D enhanced the movie but it was rather neat in some sequences.

Kevin Spacey was awesome as Lex. Brandon Routh was actually very good as Superman/Kent. Music was genius and the special effects were great.

They kind of just throw you into the story in the beginning but it all makes sense. That was the only sloppy part in my opinion. The rest was two thumbs up.

Thought it sucked. Movie seemed about 12 hours long and they still managed to cut out the 'how's' and the 'why's'.

I went to see it last night, maybe it was because i was up all day and i went to see it late night, but i seemed to be falling asleep through it. The opening credits were absolutely incredible and all the Superman fighting stuff was awesome as well. It definitely didn't need to be 3 hours long, there were parts of it that definitely dragged along. Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor was really good, same with Brandon Routh as Superman. I enjoyed it, i just thought it was extremely long. I'll go see it again, but i'll probably go to the IMAX to go see it the second time.

it was only 2.5 hours long. the middle did drag for a bit though, you're right.

That was a steaming pile of shit. Too long with really no point.

it was pretty good. Aaron and i went to see it last night. i liked how whenever you saw superman he looked like a cartoon. the color and texture of his skin and all. in my heart superman=chris reeve and it was nice to see that the movie was dedicated to him and his wife (you see the dedication at the end of the movie).
cool effects but soo much far fetched BS..esp when he was able to lift a lot of weight despite the kriptonite

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Jul 5,2006 8:09am
i probaby spelled cryptonite wrong but whatev

I saw it ages ago, and I didn't really like it one bit. There were some really good potential in it, but it was all drowned in the over-the-top size and far fetched special effects and superhero bull.

But then again, that's just me.

Trust me, I like special effects as much as the next person, but there is such a thing as too much. And too much in the superman way makes me want to puke.

ages ago? you mean months? way to bump an old thread..

How old is this thread?? Is this about Christopher Reeve's performance in that brand new movie, Superman?

I liked it as much as George Lucas' follow-up to last year's "American Graffiti," "Star Wars."
