frozen: I got in there in the last minute to catch 2 of their songs. The crowd was pretty much just stand around for them. They covered jump at the end again. And by covered, I mean, they wrote in 1984 on their world wind tour of amsterdam. I think matt lacasse was in the band then.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 8,2006 10:07pm
since the flood: they played a lot of new songs. I've only heard like 2 of them before. The crowd still moved for them, but after 4 years of mostly the same songs, they need to have the new CD in their hands before they go off for the new ones. They was something up with the mix in there (or it could have been the cab dave was using), but after the first song, you could barely hear the guitars for 1-2 songs. with out the high-end of the guitars, one of the parts I heard for a second sound like rage against the mchine. one thing about the new tracks is that the drumming is so much heavier. Luke sounds lke he's gong to destroy those drums. Most of The guitars in the new ones sound better written and there is even some crowbar flavor thrown in there.

I didn't realize he was ever in Frozen, of course it's hard to keep track.

toggletoggle post by ltdec-1000  at Jun 9,2006 1:50am
how was the acacia strain?

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 2:06am
damn...a lot of people went to this huh? i was gonna go but said fuck it because the sac has too many plans to be spending money on other people

i don't know what's funnier about this picture, the abundant amount of youngins up front, the kid in the college t-shirt, brian's ridiculous dreads, or the blonde chick with the even more ridiculous look on her face

toggletoggle post by LtdEc-1000  at Jun 9,2006 2:11am
She looks scared and turned on at the same time.

And the guy to the right of brian looks like hes going to mount the monitor.
The one next to him looks like he wants to eat it.

toggletoggle post by GoatOfCatalyst at Jun 9,2006 3:08am
my time machine was dialed directly to 1996 - thanks to jay fitz, duncan and jay for facilitating this.

SNEAKY JOE IS IMMORTAL

goodtimes.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Jun 9,2006 5:50am
Is there anyone over the age of 18 in the front row? Man I feel old.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 6:06am
haha the brunette next to the blonde is afraid she's gonna get a dread to the face and/or mouth

toggletoggle post by Josh_hates_you  at Jun 9,2006 8:30am
yeah it looks like most of the crowd never heard of or saw overcast until this reunion.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jun 9,2006 8:40am
Overcast can lick my grundle.

I had the best time in Saugus. Disco Paul crowd punched a framed picture of George Bush, there was blood all over the floor by the end of our set, and everyone had fun.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 9,2006 8:56am
i'm glad to hear that. first, disco paul needs to go out to more shows. and last, that you guys are getting people into your music and not just wallflowers.

toggletoggle post by OldSchool at Jun 9,2006 9:04am
yikes was everyone there like preteen!? i don't get this. i saw a girl at the mall putting make up on with her friends and she was wearing an overcast shirt and that made me very sad for some reason. i know i am old but i still have my bleed into one 7" hand numbered record (well its cracked now) from 1992.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 9:39am
it depends on how you look at it i guess...maybe these kids will get into overcast and learn their history and understand how great local music is and maybe they'll even develop a true interest in it

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 9,2006 9:39am
I'm a poser and didn't get into overcast until like 1996-97.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 9:40am
dude i wasn't even into music until 96-97

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 9:58am
oh yeah i forgot to mention that it's all about after the frain

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 9,2006 12:25pm
acacia strain, the: ok, I figured out what it was! on stage left, all you could heard was stage left guitar and drums. Stage right was all bass, one guitar, and vocals. anyhow, I saw some of the slowest stage dives in my life. It was like the scene from austin powers with the slow zamboni.this was their CD release show so they played mostly new songs. People yelled out tracks from the first CD, but the don't know how to play those any more. at the end, the crowd yelled and yelled for one more song and scott lee clicked the lights out to let them do it. Destroyer or something like that.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 12:27pm
OoOoO scott lee gettin paid the big bucks to throw lightswitch raves

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 12:38pm
dude...don't fuck with the delirious guy from worcester

don't make me post the statue of the guy raping the turtle from downtown

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 12:39pm

that's right

toggletoggle post by pam nli at Jun 9,2006 12:42pm
Worcester is disgusting. Quincy has character.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 12:42pm
yeah quincy doesn't have a statue of a dude raping a turtle though

all they have is crackheads raping walls

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 9,2006 12:44pm
pam: so, I'm from NH and I don't like scissorfight. when you married into new bedford, you married into it all. the extra chromasomes, the sposel abuse, and 3 guys playing something melodic.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 12:45pm
not enough attention is being paid to the statue of the man raping the turtle

Fuck, I KNEW I went to the wrong show! That must have been SOOOOO much more worthwhile.

(PS - your statement was so retarded, I almost contemplated informing the secret cervix of your friend's freedom-hating activities)

toggletoggle post by GoatOfCatalyst at Jun 9,2006 3:11pm
I just realized that you won't even be around to retort to my statement - you're probably too busy mourning your buddy Zarqawi, you dirty Shiite Moslem!!!

toggletoggle post by Colin at Jun 9,2006 3:37pm
Matt Lacasse was never in Frozen. You are confusing Frozen with TYOOL. In fact, all ex-Frozen members never played in other bands and no longer play music and don't really do anything with their lives. With the exception of Adam Grinovich, who still sings for Life In Vain.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Jun 9,2006 3:38pm edited Jun 9,2006 3:38pm
Hah Rev, I was right!!!!

Take that, Bainbridge Scholars!

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 9,2006 3:39pm
The "3 guys playing something melodic" thing is classic. Kudos.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 9,2006 3:41pm edited Jun 9,2006 3:41pm
Oh yeah, Overcast sucks. Pretty much every band from New Bedford sucks, also. You both win and lose.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Jun 9,2006 3:44pm
And as an aside... Pam, you were born in Quincy, but chose to live in New Bedford. You lose.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Jun 9,2006 3:54pm
worcester wins!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 9,2006 9:12pm
Overcast: blue, I know how you feel with that comment. I've seen them now 4 or 5 time post breakup and I wasn't overly excited to see them again. It's still odd to me that a band I really liked 10 years ago has spawned most of the mega-million dollar industry of massachusetts metalcore. It's both cool and odd that they can cash in on this. With that said, the first note (the average age in the crowd dropped 10 years) they hit floored me. Like the last few times I've seen them. Hell, I thought I would just shoot a couple songs and then would charge out, but I ended up staying for the whole time. as for the music they played, I think it was the same exact set as they always play. I really can't say much more. Kids moshed. There was some really slow stage diving and that was it. Hopefully, the kids in the front row will o out and by the orange cd. I forget what it's called, but that is my fav.
