I like the sound at Drifters, I just feel $10.00 is steep for a local show especially when you can't leave the place what so ever unless you want to pay another $10.00 to get back in.

what's the deal with that drifters place? i remember i played a show in hudson, nh once and there was a really good show at drifters the same night, but everyone was sketched about going there.

the guy that runs the place is kind of a douche, although he is a nice dude in person he is EXTREMELY CATHOLIC and EXTREMELY STRICT about what goes down at his club. the night we played there i saw him yell at band members for using the back door, not let certain kids in im guessing because they made trouble at past shows, he needed to screen our lyrics before we played there (which is stupid cus we just edited out all the fucks shits and anti-religion stuff), and he didnt pay us because he said it was a benefit show. then when i asked what the benefit was for he started talking about how expensive the new sprinkler system is going to be. besides that the place is awesome, has sweet sound, and lots of kids show up usually.

Everytime I've put on shows there the draw hasn't been that great. I think it's mostly because of the price or maybe it's that nobody knows who we are really.

i'd say both...scene kids are pretty fickle to begin with. Bands that usually do really well there are the Mercury Switch and Haste the Day. The place is (Christian's) his only form of income if i've heard correctly. So he's really strict on the back door and loading gear and shit like that. Christ, he didnt even let our (WOOS) girlfriends in for free, which i thought was pretty gay. But hey, i've never run a venue before. And yes, i know a good amount of people who arent allowed in Drifters anymore, because i guess they bring the mosh too hard or something.

well that WOOS/DC/LCTR drew like 50 or so. that wasnt bad

I hate Drifters. The biggest fucking posers go to shows. Last time I went to a show there half the kids were wearing Guns Up, Black My Heart or whatever local area core band was popular at the time but I NEVER see any of those kids at actually 'core shows. They just go there to try to use their brand new dance moves on the 14 year old girls there and feel tough. Ahh I hate the kids that goto that place.

Sorry random rant. I'll probably goto this show.
