I need bands for Saterday, June 24th

Last show I booked had IDN, Dour Cursvia, The Departed, Au Pair, And ATNFAC play.

I need recomendations for a couple bands to play the show that will draw in Brockton.

The last show was awsome, but we didn't break even with the club, so we need to rake in some more people at the next show.

Any suggestions?

I suggest to book a band from the new bedford area and a start so pam, george, etc will come up. they need lke 60 people paid to break even.

toggletoggle post by niccolai   at May 28,2006 6:51pm
Typically, when I book metal bands at Romans, the turnout is low because there isn't much of a metal community in brockton, so the only people that really show up are people that the bands bring with them.

That means any band I book is going to haveto bring as many friends and promote the show as much as they possibly can.

If any band thinks they are up to that, get ahold of me.

The turnout needs to be about 60 people to break even with the club, and if the turnout is short it reflects poorly on me, and it hurts the chances of future metal shows at Romans.

notcommon bands = $$$$$

toggletoggle post by niccolai   at May 28,2006 7:29pm
Not Common bands won't be able to handle playing with my metalcore band, Joe.

can you hook something up with us when we get back from tour?

we'd be down, Romans looks like a lot of fun

toggletoggle post by Joshtruction   at May 28,2006 11:07pm
IDN would most likely be down for playing there again.

toggletoggle post by niccolai   at May 28,2006 11:22pm
IDN is always welcome.

toggletoggle post by jakeman at May 29,2006 12:28am
drop anchor. they are hardcore, but if they play on the south shore, they will bring plenty of friends. http://www.myspace.com/dropanchor

excellent dudes with a solid negative approach cover.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at May 30,2006 1:28pm

toggletoggle post by hungtableed at May 30,2006 2:17pm
Burn My Remains needs shows. We recorded a 7 song-er, minus vocals, and should have it all together real soon and are looking to play as much as possible.

toggletoggle post by Blue  at May 30,2006 4:19pm

Yes, Roman's is the Tigers Den.

And yes it's all ages in the sense that they don't card anyone, but no 14 year olds please, unless they are going to give me and Nick handjobs.

If you guy need a band, we'll play....just let me know

i think most would be scum bag graduating seniors. although i make no promises, i hear 14 year olds give good head.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at May 31,2006 10:09am
one time my friend's band played out in detroit. i knew this girl from detroit who figured i knew them and she went on and on to me about how nice they were, and what a sweet kid my friend was. I saw the kid the next day at a show in Brockton and said "hey, I heard you guys did pretty well in Detroit." He said to me "Fuck yeah. I got head from a 14 year old girl."

Bump.

We need another band on this bill.

If your band can literally bring ten kids with them (at least) to ensure our turnout is in the 60s, I will add you to the bill.

Warning - must be able to tolerate playing with metalcore bands.

if you're avoiding volatile because they're not metalcore, my testimonial is that they played with my band when we were even more metalcore than we are now and they certainly seemed to "tolerate" playing with us. They also put on an awesome show and I believe took a request to play some old Slayer. How can you go wrong?

toggletoggle post by niccolai   at Jun 2,2006 3:31pm
Nah, I'm not avoiding them, but I don't think they will draw in the brockton area which unfortunately is the case with alot of the bands that responded to this.

If any of these bands can promise me to physically bring at least 10-15 kids with them to ensure more metal shows at Roman's in the future, then I will feel more comfortable adding them to the bill.

I like alot of bands that have been messaging me to play there, but unfortunately I haveto keep the turnout higher on the priority list then who I think necessarily would be fun to play with, you know?
