sunn0))) was louder than manowar. different notes they played resonated with different parts of the body (they hit the bladder a few times but the sphincter was thankfully untouched). the feedback + vibrations caused the illusion that each little crackle and buzz was eating a bit of my body and soul, and by the end I was consumed and fell asleep. good show!

how is this show still not going on? and did price of admission include a pillow?
Man what a great Fuckin Show!!!!! Had A fuckin Blast. thanx to everyone that came out. to the Rev as always great shots man. my fuckin brothers GRIEF( Sucks being you this mornin-TURTLE TURTLE!!!!)Mr not common for watchin the table so we couldgo get drunk!!!!! SUNN 0))) was amazingly loud!!!!!!
sin of angels: when they started there weren't too many, but it slowly swelled til there were about 100 people there during SoA. I kept thinking "wow, these guys are probably going to be the fastest stuff tonight" but I know grief has some speedier parts. The sound for them was awesome and it' still hard to believe that all that comes from just 3 guys, but whatever. They keep a nice steady pace across all their songs and thankfully, no longer destroy their equipment at the end of their set.
grief: what a completely different set from their doom and grind fest set. That was all fanfare and hoopla. This was way more doomy and filled with loathing. Grief continues to slow their songs down and write more lyrics about their angst as they continue. their fret slides creep down to the speed of molasses. If they continue with this trend, the front couple of rows will have to check into grief counciling after their set.
at the end of their set, the guys from sunn0))) went up on stage yelling for one more. They all put back on their instrument and obliged. though this should have been more "grief, with out you there would be no us"
[band=sunnO)))]: so, they set up, do a last sound check, and play some ambient CD for 15 minutes while they arre off doing something. During this time, the lights are all off. The ambient/movie sound track being played slowly thumps and thunds in a ultra low pulse, gut clenching and drawing out and then changing every 5 to 10 seconds. They finally emerge from the back in full robes. in the backm they start messing with pedals and what not. The music plays on the ears more like the sound track to forbidden planet than drown. And if the 10 cabs weren't enough, one of the mad monks drags out two more which stand like 2001's monoliths in the front of the stage. I started snapping pictures which lasted all of one minute and then they told a security guard to tell me no flash. The guard knew who I was since my face was being illuminated by the constant flashes from the crowd, including many SLRs, lame. I went around in front and tried to time myself to take a picture when someone's flash would go off.. That is until the frequencies started making me neauseous. They moved on stage as slow as the music they were playing. It only seems appropriate that they were dressed like monks.
so after about 45 minutes of pain, I headed to the back and took off. their set was good... but after too long, it's sort of like watching paint dry. I was also annoyed about flash hypocricies... on the way out, my head felt like it was full of cottage cheese and this morning, it feels like my ears are cramped.

Sunn o))) should have gone on an hour earlier and played for twenty minutes less. The drive back to CT wasn't too bad but I would have liked more than 4 hours of sleep before work today. I don't know how anybody could sit still and endure that whole set sober, much less why they would WANT to.
Hey Rev - DAVEY CROCKET!!!

hall and oats couldn't bartend
hall works at the pizza place on the corner
and oats was doing the valet parking
as I was leaving, larissa put a shot of something in my face and I just stared at it blankly cause I didn't know if I was suppose to take it or not. I opted for the "pretend" cheers with my empty fist.
