New site? Maybe some day.
When the fuck did this happen? A friend of mine just told me this. This is the 3rd club to close down in less than a year(Bombshelter,Jarrod's Place). |
all three of these venues were pretty whack, so |
yeah, good riddance to shitholes. |
the Stone & Steel fest that happenned november 19th/20th was the last thing that happenned there. We were supposed to play a Dimebag tribute show December 8th at 125, but they closed down so we couldn't do it. If you drive by the place, they still have "Metalfest November 19/20" on the sign out front
Sucks now, because there's pretty much NOWHERE in Haverhill to play shows anymore, unless we rent out american legions and shit |
it was already closed down when that saynora fest happened. a month before that their phone was pulled. that was the last thing that went on their to my knowledge |
I personally liked all 3 clubs.Only thing that sucked about the Bombshelter was that it was a sweatbox in the summer inside there. What didnt u guys like about these places? |
bombshelter: no ventalation. having 30 people chains smoke with no air sucks. after the first time I shot there, I was sick for 4 months.
jarrod's had a shitty owner, shitty policies towards bands, etc...
club 125 never really did anything. the only thing I didn't like about it was the red light on the sides of the stage. |
Good things about these clubs:
Bombshelter-Booked Mortician,Exciter and Cannibal Corpse plus Serge's daughter and wife were nice to look at(both have hot bodies)
Jarrod's Place-Good sound/Cool song selection in their jukebox
CLub 125-Only 20 minutes from my house |
dude, serge's wife was not nice to look at. she shared her weed with me once though so she was cool. |
jarrods = worst sound ever |
the bombshelter had retarded prices for their shows and didn't know how to book local bands to open their bigger shows. they'd book crappy nu-metal bands with touring bands and the lineups never made sense. |
club 125 wasn't a bad venue but the people who worked there were dicks. |
Exciter? at the bombshelter? I don't remember that happening. |
the sound stuff from club 125 was shipped to marks I think,. |

Exciter played there back in 2003,CSDO opened.Exciter also played at Club 125 back in 2001 a month after 9/11

I disagree. She had a tight ass and a slutty look to her.
it was probably early 2003 or something. my first show at the bombshelter was 3/12/3 |
I smoke close to 2 packs a day.But ya that place did get rather smokey |

the reverend has been going to shows since the year 3 AD |

Is that like a 'shaq attaq'?
Dood, a venue is a venue, as long as the sound is good, IMO.
Any venue closing that does metal, is a loss. |
though my lungs and camera gear are happier not having to deal with smoke. man, today, I would die if I had to deal with smoke. |
Yah clubs closing dont help the scene at all.If the Palladium goes then the scene in NE is officially DEAD |

That is in fact correct, it's all ar Mark's Showplace now, I think the soundguy from 125 may be working there too, but I'm not sure |

the sound guys when we played there on Sunday were the dude from Goodtimes and some old ratty truck driver looking guy with long greasy brown hair. it may very well be the same guy. |

metal is alive and well in new england and will still be alive and well if the palladium ever goes under. i go to more local shows than palladium shows and always have more fun. |
I've only gone to the Palladium once, and a drunk woman attacked me. So it's ok in my book. |
The Bomb Shelter pro's and cons:
Pros:
Decent sound system (especially on the kid drum)
Size was fair
Lighting & fog effects
Pissing Serge off by hanging on the pipes
Cons:
The sound guy was an absolutely idiot. I put the mic on the floor in front of me for one second to unravel the wire and he fliped out on me.
Hot as hell during the summer
Smelled like a shower room in high school
Prices
The stage falling apart
The barrier in front of the stage
The location could've been better
Smokey
Local bands having to sell tickets at 10-15 dollars a piece.
So obviously IMO the cons outweighted the pro's at the Bomb Shelter. |
pros of the bombshelter:
serge's mullet
cons of the bombshelter:
serge's mullet
