Pretty funny.

this episode owned everything and everyone

Muslim Extremist: "Family Guy isn't even very well written. All of the jokes are just interchangeable and irrelevant to the plot."

ha...it's true

toggletoggle post by Dissector   at Apr 5,2006 10:52pm
I"m so glad that South Park agrees with me on that wole Family Guy thing.

toggletoggle post by dreadedsilence at Apr 5,2006 11:11pm
my girlfriend made fun of me for putting too much thought into this episode. i couldn't decide if they were directly making fun of Family Guy or just using it to make their point. because there was also references to their own problems (the Scientology episode being pulled and religious intolerance). i came to the conclusion that since Kyle likes Family Guy, then the episode came about because Matt Stone likes Family Guy, but Trey Parker doesn't so they put their argument into the episode....
i could be completely wrong and thinking too deeply about things, but that's the way i roll...

and Family Guy is one of my favorite shows, regardless of whether the jokes are relevant to the plot or not. they're still hilarious

yeah i completely agree actually dread, i kept thinking the whole time "is there some reference i'm missing here?"

wasnt one of their better episodes. i thought it was going to be as good as the 'Simpsons did it!' episode.

I can't wait to see this when I get home! carina should have tivod it for me.

toggletoggle post by chris_from_shit_fuck  at Apr 5,2006 11:58pm
It was enjoyable, but not a really great episode for me. I also agree with Dread about the debate between people who enjoy Family Guy, and those who don't.

glad i'm not the only one that's kinda confused

It was pretty funny, but not as funny as say...an episode of Family Guy!

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Apr 6,2006 12:43am edited Apr 6,2006 12:44am
it wasn't as funny as it could have been. But seriously, Family Guy has completely gone downhill. There is no plot anymore, it's just constant ADD lack of plot stuff with pop culture cut away jokes and flashbacks. So, I think it's kinda cool that they're getting called out (even if that's not the whole issue)

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Apr 6,2006 12:48am
I read a quick little article a few months back, may have been in Rolling Stone or some garbage, where Trey and Matt were talking about how people will always say things to them like "We love you, and Family Guy" or "Your show is funny like Family guy" and how they hate when people say that. They don't like Family Guy at all.

as much as i love family guy, i have to agree here. i own all 3 DVD sets (seasons 1-4 total), and when i compare those episodes to some of the newer ones i've been seeing, the episode plots are lacking in creativity, it's mostly just random craziness. i still think it's fucking hilarious, but the plots don't help the episodes as much.

family guy is a show known for its cutaways

south park is known for their satire and ridiculous plots

both=awesome

and yes i really read into that episode a lot too, probably cuz i'm reeeeeaaaaaally bake-aked

I am not a big SP fan... I have actually only seen like 5-6 episodes besides the Movie. But I love Family Guy.

It seemed to me that they were more saying that the huge uproar about the Danish cartoon of Mohammed was stupid.

toggletoggle post by Hungtableed at Apr 6,2006 8:57am
I wanted to see this so bad but we were out playing last night....maybe later today I can find it on youtube. I watched the Hybrid cars episode on youtube.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Apr 6,2006 12:45pm

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 6,2006 12:56pm
I was eating carrot cake at that minute too.
oh shit! I forgot my carrot cake on the table!

the next time someone says "that's the way i roll" or "that's how i roll," heads are going to roll.

toggletoggle post by dreadedsilence at Apr 6,2006 4:56pm
so, are they not making a part 2 to that episode? i heard that they're just leaving it the way it is...

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Apr 6,2006 5:26pm
wonder showzen gives me giggles

toggletoggle post by spaldino at Apr 7,2006 5:48pm
one of the best quotes from Wonder Showzen:

(on their "Q&A" section titled "What is Heaven?")

some little kid said "Heaven is where drunk daddies drive to"

i almost shot milk out of my ass on that one.

i saw a commercial saying that the second part will be next wednesday night, and the first half will be before it, if anyone who wanted to see that missed it.

toggletoggle post by pam nli at Apr 8,2006 10:09am
I haven't seen this yet, gonna have to download it.

I fucking love both FG and SouthPark. If you threw in the Daily Show, I could live the rest of my life only watching those three shows.

I don't really understand people that don't like Family Guy.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Apr 8,2006 4:24pm
people who don't like family guy are soulless and will never reach the afterlife.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Apr 8,2006 4:39pm
Don't get me wrong, I love Family Guy. But I think that if they went back to the writing style they had going for the first 2 seasons I would personally enjoy it more. Lately I feel like it's just topical humor and pop culture references and not enough humor within the stories.

Look at a show like the Simpsons, their best seasons were when it wasn't so random.

I don't know, personally I like satire a lot more than ADD humor. But Family Guy at it's finest is hilarious...I just think the latest season has been lackluster.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Apr 8,2006 4:39pm
also, the drummer in my band loves it...so it's cool to contradict him

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Apr 8,2006 5:03pm
i know exactly what you mean brian...but i still fucking love that show

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Apr 8,2006 5:04pm
i just realized that there isn't much family guy can do with storyline humor anyhow because "SIMPSONS DID IT!"

south park can have fresh material because they write an episode the day it airs...haha

toggletoggle post by ShadowSD at Apr 8,2006 6:01pm
All three shows are the shit. They each represent a unique style of writing, which is why they all remain great in their own right.
