tell that to our bassist, he's getting a custom 9-string made. |
|
if he can do creative stuff with 9 strings and not break his hands, then more power to him. |

yo Anthony...i left the $ in a brown paper bag behind the 7-11 in Olneyville...i wrote a big $ sign in bright red magic marker on the bag so you cant miss it. It should still be there... |

Yeah lend me about that much but for school and my car insurance. Thanks. |

The bookmatching on the top is very good. The figures nice too.
Aldar and figured are very bassey woods, though especially when mixed with the carbon fiber neck. Aldar is relatively cheap.
I'm pretty sure they have one of these at Matts music in weymouth. go check it out. Don't buy it from there though, Matt Leff is a tool. I know they have a few quantum fives.
Personally, for that kindof money I would just have a custom shop built. if that weren't a carbon fiber neck, I'm sure you'd only be looking at a 1000-1500$ cnc bass

I agree about the price, but the neck really is what you're paying for.
Alder is a great, classic wood for a bass. Figured maple is just beautiful, doesn't really affect the tone.
if you like what a Modulus can provide (clarity, punch, brightness) then they are well worth the dough due to their reliability and craftsmanship. Although having a top luthier build me a bass would also be a dream come true, I would still very much consider shelling out the cash for Modulus.

good for him!! The idea of expanding metal bass playing by using ERBs is really cool (which you can sorta/kinda hear in Behold...the Arctopus although a Warr guitar isn't technically a bass)
ERBs = extended range basses
maybe someday down the line I might experiment with an ERB, I'd probably start with a Groove Tools 7 string. Right now I am trying to learn fretless and that is enough to handle! |
|
i really hate that finish, i don't think i could ever play that bass... i'm still waiting on my ric. then i'll be happy. |

our bass player bought a fretless a few months back and he has picked up on it pretty quickly. it adds alot to the songs he plays with it. |
