school and anxiety and insomnia.


I cannot psychologically accept going to bed before 4am...I try and it just doesn't work.

Oh, and I'm graduating in 3 months and don't even have a resume...way to go loser!

next week I change jobs (again). hopefully now that I'll have some time off during the week, I'll find some relief on the writing front. When I started working M-F in April of 2004, I also started letting bands & labels (even some I consider friends) down. Medic from Maryland is a prime example. I still haven't transcribed an interview I did with Sonny like 2 years ago. Now the elephant in the room is a piece on 3 Louisville bands (Lords, Coliseum, Breather Resist) that is losing relevance by the week. Thank fuck those bands are pretty prolific, tour and put shit out all the time but still, I've had to do a couple follow-up interviews and shit (BR just lost their vocalist, Steve)...so yeah, I try to write about bands I care about and Metal Maniacs gives me a lot of freedom subject- and time-wise but not coming through has really been a drag..

will you still be in portsmouth wade? I got something for you

oh and i woke up at 3am and didn't fall back asleep till 6 and got up at 7..ugh..at least i was able to talk to aaron in his sleep for about 10 minutes..i didn't keep talking because i didn't want to wake him up too, ohbut i'd rather not talk about what's stressing me out

looking for a new job, tons of school work, basically having a tough time prioritizing.

school, bills, the excessive art jobs i've taken on to try to pay bills, finding a job, trying to figure out where a shitload of money that is owed to me from unemployment is, car problems, realizing i have to be an "adult" once may comes around. good times.

when I say "keep you up at night"..in regards to myself anyway is more why I can't relax until midnight anyway, simliar to what Brian DC was saying..there's literally always somebody waiting for something & that's compounded by the pressure I self-inflict. Once I'm down, though, I sleep with no problems. Insomnia would put me over the edge.

this highlights my annoying propensity to further avoid the work as time goes by - it's like this hyper-procrastination.

I can almost already "force" myself to sleep... but yeah, the laying down and being "done" for the day is the toughest part.

I'll be in Wells, Maine. today's my last day here. the great thing, aside from more $ and working closer to home, is I'll have days off during the week (read: by my fucking self) so I'll be more productive with with writing, etc.

getting to shows will be harder, though. getting out at 7 sucks. middle east shows will be fine but beyond that, it'll be close.
