The show was booked by IDN's drummer. I am not 100% sure on the story, but I think Kenny started to book it but Shawn took over and got it all set or something.

Just so everyone is perfectly clear about this, although it has already been said, Kenny Lanning had nothing to do with this show. The bands were dealt with by myself, and Joe Fealy aka Joey Newbury. The hall was booked by myself and IDN. We are funding this with our own money, and I don't want people to base whether or not they are going to the show on if this guy had something to do with it, when he didn't. thanks for reading, hope to see you there.

Mortencia: They don't practice, but they are pretty awesome. Definitely my favorite band that Kessaris has been in yet.

us: we weren't too on with eachother for some reason. I fucked up a couple of the solo's. My fingers were not cooperating, basically I'm malnurished and I think that's why. haha. I mean look at me, christ!

War On Our Shores: It was pretty weird seeing Nate and Jon not in the Hostage heart but it was cool anyways.

Cassius: Sounded pretty good, though I gotta say, I still don't like KRANKS man. They probably got them free, but I probably wouldn't use them even if I got them free, I'd ebay it.

Despised Icon: Best sounding band of the night and with only one guitarist. Pretty neat how that works. I started listening to the new album they have a while ago, but I just wasn't digging it that much. They are so much better live. Their drummer is like a mini Cesca (meaning he's smaller and has a smaller kit) hahaha.

Ed Gein: By this time a lot of people left. Been a while since I've seen em'. They are still pretty damn tight and chaotic.

TTEOTD: I hear they are going on tour with Bodom soon? Another band with Kranks and you could just tell! They were still pretty sick and it's too bad they were rushed and cut short.

I was going to take pictures of this show myself, but when I fired my camera up it said the battery was dead. I've had a backup in my pocket for a week and apparently it died too even though it hasn't been used. I guess my thigh sucks the life out of batteries?

I think everyone means to thank Tim for the PA..maybe it is Tom's...I won't pretend to know

Tom, if it makes you feel any better. I noticed you guys not being together on some things, but they ended up coming off as those mistakes that really don't sound all that bad. I know those are usually the ones that haunt you.


Overall, everyone had great sound and played well.

Rev, there was a cop inside there all night with a silly yellow jacket. Your schpiel on the page said that they should have come inside.

WOW, is all i can say. This had to be the mot fun i've ever had at a show. All the bands were fucking mint. Despised Icon...*phew* there are no words. I dont think i've ever danced that hard. Everyone was going insane. The biggest friendly asshole-mosh pit i've ever seen. And there were no fights. I'm guessing because 60-75% of the people who showed up, showed up to fuck it up ro Despised Icon. So everyone was agreement that such would happen. I'm rambling and in a LOT of pain.

OK, first off sorry about the time problems with this show. It was not brought to my attention that the police officer was paid in 4 hour intervals untill after IDN's set. So I am sorry for the shortened sets if anyone there had the money to pay the officer for four hours just to stay another 30min. that would have been fantastic. So I am sorry TTEOTD and Ed Gein had shortened sets you ahve no idea how bad I feel. Now about the money...I am sorry none of the locals saw any money, but honestly after the tour guarantee and paying the hall NOTHING was left we had just enough no joke. So I am really sorry you can think I'm an asshole but I'm not I am an honest dude that brought a good time. Keep in mind this show was canceled(AS IN NOT HAPPENING) and Ryan and I picked it up and put it on with only a few weeks notice. I plan on putting on many more shows in the future working with Ryan and hopefully they run a little smoother....anyways thats my post

I didn't like Krank at first, then I played one and I was like...wow, this is just a really solid tubed head. It's wayyyyy too pricey though. I'd just assume spend the money on 2 5150s or a Mark IV...something that will make me kill everyone. Although I know this guy who plays an ENGL Powerball, thats pretty sweet too...I guess.

so.. My reviews. It took me until porphyria to figure out that the PA was louder that everything else and that's why... (read at least the first 3 reviews)

mortencia: this is moe and meghan's band. I was running around trying to get a few pictures of their set before they were done so I didn't really get to pay attension to their set. What I did notice was the vocals were terrible (dundundun!) it was funny that kris was actually playing something that had a lot of breakdowns and only one noodly part at the end.

war on our shores: this was most of hostage heart + moe and a new singer. They didn't sound anything like THH, but got people moving. ...and the vocals were terrible (dundundun!)

Porphyria: so I've seen these guys like a billion times. by this point, I know what to expect. and I thought the vocals were terrible. the reason why? well, the PA as stated above was a lot louder than everything else. I think all the guitars were almost completely lost. sucks cause I was watching them and they were playing probably the tightest set that I have seen this line up do. There just wasn't the juice in their set up to compensate for the PA. I could actually hear all the words that tim was cookie monstering and nobody wants that in a death metal song.

cassius: they had way too much equipment and took way too long to set up. but this was the first band that had the stacks for all their equipment that put out the balls to cover the PA. they were the first band that actually rattled your clothing a little. I thought that the singer was trying to be a bit too much like tommy giles, but they were pretty good. at one point the singer slipped on the water in the middle of the floor and ended up on his back. then one of the guitar players ended up on his ass after tripping over the kick mic.

in dire need: after a little "fuse changing" which was actually a broken string, they got started and played better than the cabot st show. the crowd was most of the same kids from the "reunion" show. I loved the enya tracks before hand. kids started dancing very hard for this band and then closing pile up had me almost imapled on TTEOTD's drum kit. over all good set, but I still want joey's voice to come back to it's insane levels like it was before hand. I'm hoping that this comes out during their recording session which they are starting right away after this first bit of shows.

i dunno rev, i thought the sound was damn good at this show. maybe it was the sound up in front that was screwy. in the back it sounded great. eh who knows, it doesnt matter.

Yeah Rev, Joey is definitly rusty. I am rusty too. Joey has not done any vocals since the band split up so he is trying to get back in the swing of things now. He is progressing really fast and I am sure he will be the same ol joey in no time



I think despised Icon was my fav band of the night. All the guys and girls from all the bands were really cool, and it was good talking to them all!

despised icon: they sounded awesome. I think they got the longest set out of anyone else. Which makes sense cause that was the band that 99% of the crowd really came to see. it's awesome that a band like this exists that can have hardcore, metalcore, and deathmetal kids all there at once jumping around and enjoying the show.

ed gein: they had some guitar troubles. this had then pausing for a while fixing it. because of that, their really short set was even shorter. I think they were up there for 20 minutes and ended up playing for less than 15 minutes. these guys are really good though I dont think they were "feeling" this show. they sort of seemed distracted by the lack of time and the breaking guitar. though the other 2 members kept playing through most of the technical difficulties.

through the eyes of the dead: they set up really quickly, but only got 15 minutes to play. I really like their CD. I think the guitar work on the CD is awesome. unfortuately, I think only a little of that came out when they played. there were barely any of the rich harmonic guitar parts that make the CD so good. the people who stayed moved around a lot for them. I hope that I can see them again, but this time play a full set.
