I saw them with Napalm Death at the Rat
I'm guessing that was the same tour as the Babyhead one
It was a great show! |
DVD? No one told me. Where did you get it? "Sticks and stones may break my bones but cancer will probably kill me!" |

Nope, I saw them with Sam Black Church at Babyhead as well.
SHEER TERROR! blast from the past! I saw them with Demolition Hammer back in the day. i talkin 14years ago! |
I saw Sheer Terror a few times at Babyhead, but never with Napalm Death. Paul would usually strip down to his boxers and say "Yeah, you scumbags paid 5 bucks to see a fat guy sweat" |
I saw Napalm Death/Sheer Terror at the Rat.
I also saw Napalm Death/At The Gates at the Rat a few months later.
When I lived in NYC 10-15 years ago I saw Sheer Terror a million times. I saw them opening for one of the Carnivore reunion shows. But the best time was probably when they opened for FEAR on the first FEAR reunion tour. That ruled FEAR was 3/4ths the classic lineup. |
So what about this DVD? Consider yourself lucky, Josh, Sheer Terror is one of my favorites. I never got to see them. |

whoa, i remember him saying that at the show i went to see them w/Demolition Hammer. Except it was 8 bucks for me. They never really had any old school washing machine pits, just a bunch of skins hangin around. Demolition Hammer use to have the sickest pits ever! None of that kung-fu shit either! just a prison riot goin on! those were the days!
I saw Demolition Hammer at L'Amour when they toured with Deicide and Cancer back in '92. Killer fucking show.
Then I saw them 2 years later at CBGB with Anthrax after they put out that horrible third album, Time Bomb. What a lame way to wimp out that album was.

Yeah their last CD was horrible. But 44 caliber brain surgery was the song that made people go nuts. Gelid Remains was the other song, there were a few others that really got the crowd moving... i know today you can't find their music anywhere. I had their tapes but lost them all. I was lucky to find some of their songs on P2P as they are long out of print. Didn't the drummer die of food poision?????
1992. I think I saw them in 1991 w/Sheer Terror but it wasn't a tour, just a "local" show in Farmington, CT. Wow they toured with death metal bands? I didn't consider them death metal, more brutal thrash metal with a hint of hardcore NYC style! |
i was at that napalm death show too |

I know he died about ten years ago, but I never knew how. That would be funny if it was food poisoning. His parents owned an italian restaurant near where I grew up.
i heard he ate some kind of fish and he died!? i read it somewhere poor guy, good drummer too. |
..."drummer Vinnie Daze died from a mysterious disease he was infected with from Africa on March 11th, 1996." *from Wikapedia / take with a grain of salt. I could have sworn he ate some fish or something and got really sick...
I always figured it was a suicide or AIDS or something fucked like that. It was kept real secret about what happened so I figured it must've been something embarrasing.

I have a friend who grew up in Yonkers and he was really into the CT/NYC hardcore/metal scene back in the late 80's. I emailed him to see if he knew and he said there were various rumors about his death on the "streets". For whatever reason no one would say what happened. He said he heard everything from food poision to botched drug deal gone bad to AIDS to depression/suicide. He said the only people that really know are the band members (none of them are in music today, all have corporate jobs!?) and friends/family who kept a tight lid on his passing.
i found this interview (sorry to ruin the thread) and even Alex Marquez (incredible drummer btw) won't say http://www.carnagedeathmetal.de/oldschoold...th/interviews/AlexMarquez_2005.html
"You have replaced Vinny Daze, because he has died, haven't you? Why did he die, what happened with him?
Actually, no. He was out of the band before he passed. I guess they had differences or something. I really never asked. I'm not totally sure about his death so I won't comment."

my bro was really into this band back in the day, i just asked him and he said he heard the rumor the guy was beat to death? He was gay, i don't know no idea who this band was but its a fucking cool name! |
