I just got a freedom case by skb as a gift.

I spent all night/morning/afternoon puking my brains out (so you can imagine I've lost all taste for vomit for at least a couple days) and I open this case and there was the most puke-like odor inside and it quickly filled the room. It's the most pungent throw up smell ever... it would be like if you puked into a frying pan and fried it for 7 years, than snorted the the black coal-like purge juice.

I guess the stench is caused by the glue they use, but anywho, does anyone have a method for getting rid of new case odor? I don't want to just mask the odor, I want it friggin gone. I have the case open in my hall way right now and it's airing out but I've been told letting it air out doesn't really help to much unless you leave it sitting for like 2 months. The ones at guitar centers don't smell, but they've been airing out for probably months/years.

someone please make a suggestion, I have another of the same case on it's was as well as a bass version. Three of these things in one house will cause insanity.

Don't use perfume air fresheners. Get something that bonds with the odors, like febreeze or ozium. Ozium works really well.

I had a problem with the same thing with my guitar case for a few months. It fades with time but febreeze works well with masking it temporarily.

if you have a place to leave it open for a couple of days to air out it will help, or bring it by our practice space for a couple of days, it'll reak so bad of smoke, you'll never smell the puke-glue stench again

Blow bong hits into it. Hell, I'll even be so generous as to offer to help you!

Ya thats horse glue, or at least thats what I was told years ago.
I kinda doubt that in this day and age they use horse glue?!?
But ya, that shit stinks....it does fade tho.
I kinda like the smell now.
It reminds me of ripping a facemelter solo.

You'd be suprised. Horses are still used to make glue and soap to this day.

LOL good for us. Bad for horses.
But what is it, just their hooves, right?

toggletoggle post by ArrowHead nli at Dec 18,2005 1:07am
hooves and bones. Fat for soap.
