ok.. i use a wireless thingy to steal the internet,it worked great until a day ago....all of a sudden i keep having to renew my ip address every half hour exactly! i see the screen where it tells me i "lease" the address for an hour? ummm..i suck at this stuff! the signal isnt going out its very strong so its not that,,maybe its the default gateway? im in way over my head and just "pressing buttons"at this point,any help would be greatly appreciated!........... i guess the qestion is.....

is there an address i can use that wont expire on me,or a way around this?

it sounds like the place you steal it from is trying to block you. you should turn yourself over to the authorities immediatly

Get connected to the internet, then go the Command Prompt and type

ipconfig /all

and paste what's there.

I doubt even if it was illegal they'd go through the trouble unless you did something malicious to a place of business (if that's where the connection is coming from). They'd probably have to get search warrants for everyone's houses and see who has the NIC card with your MAC address.
