The black metal band was good though and BOE as always.

Nobody really knows what happened.

From what I know is that kenny the prom. promised them a lot and when they arrived they saw nothing that was promised, they decided to leave, probably thinking it was not worth it.

My friend called the club and the lady he spoke with said that Rigor Mortis showed up and took a look around,didnt like the club then left.Bottom line is their fucking assholes for not playing last night!!!Im glad my friend called and found this out because we didnt bother going.Its happened to me 2x when Ive gone to shows and found out the headliner aint playing

Regardless of whether or not the asshole promoter didn't pay them, the band should have played. Bands should expect to be fucked over by the club and/or sleazy promoter about 7 times out of 10 (that sounds about right, I'll be generous). What kind of jerks come all the way up from Texas and decide they are too big to play Dee Dees? They could have just beaten the crap out of the kid and they still would have made some money from the show and probably a lot of money on merch from people taking pity on them. What dicks.

Based on what I've heard about his shows, I don't think he has ever ripped anyone off. He does seem pretty stupid though, if he wasn't borderline retarded then he could probably prove he didn't.

The hall show Goratory played that started this boycott probably lost him money.

The Palladium show that Teratism and Anoxia played, Kenny told people he made 1 dollar from the door. That just means the touring bands got their 600 bucks, and the Palladium takes 600 bucks (which seems likely).

Kenny payed Rigor Mortis 250 bucks but they still left anyways. I think Kenny is more misunderstood then he is blatantly ripping off bands. I don't like him though, and I am glad I stole his hat.

ah well, my friend is the reason why I went to the Rigor Mortis show in Brooklyn and as a fan even he was disspointed with them. I bet they didn't play because they couldn't fit their 2 full guitar/bass stacks on the stage.

I am a lot less sketched out by playing these palladium shows because there's much less of a chance we'd get dicked over. Hall shows are a different story as you actually have to rent EVERYTHING.

One example is the show you mentioned with Goratory. He promised guarantees. He didn't even take the time to tell us he only made $1. He screwed out of there 2 minutes into Goratory's set, he just snuck out.

He pulled the same stunt at the other show we played that he promoted. Only, he didn't sneak out. He again didn't even have the balls to tell us he lost money. Instead, he dragged his asian buddy out there to blow smoke up peoples asses.

Bands pay money to play shows. With gas, van rentals, etc... we pay up to $200 just to play a gig an hour away. If you can't pay a guarantee (which as you said, in a hall show it's unlikely) then promise a percentage, or nothing at all. Don't let bands drive the fuck out of their way and spend money assuming you'll be good on your word, then stiff them.

Besides that, like you said. I don't like him. He's a drunken half witted fuckup.

I didn't know he promised guarantees, thats kind of stupid of him to do.

I basically don't like him because he is stupid and has horrible hygeine.

it's not JUST about money, despite the fact that people think it is and several people claiming martyrdome to this cause, people are ignoring other issues. for me it's all about lies. this fucker is the biggest liar i've ever met in my life. he shouldn't have the responsibility of booking shows like this. for instance, he should have held in consideration what they were using for equipment, maybe if he realized the size of dee dee's (he's probably never been there, just heard me talk about the place) they won't have been pissed about it. Though RM is also resonsible for whatever else happened, who knows maybe the guarantee was 500 and Kenny said he'd mail them a money order in two weeks (that's how he operates). It's disturbing seeing how incompetant this asshole is, being put in situations like these, a has a history and habit of fucking it all up. It's even more disturbing to see people STILL supportive of his activities. It's a fucking disgrace to the intergrity of this area that he is involved in the scene.

I not sure that I know the full true story about what happened with Rigor Mortis, all I know is the show went on, it was a blast, and my entire body still hurts from playing 2 sets back-to-back. The people who stuck around were fucking cool, I love Dee Dee's.
