NEEDLESS TO SAY, I've been waiting for a SU-800 to come out for a while. the only thing that I don't know about is that nikon's wireless flashing system talks via pre-flashes... and the SU-800 doesn't have a pre-flash area (only a AF-area)... so I'm not sure how it would talk to the current SB-800/SB-600's especially at any distance (the SB-800's use their flash itself so can go pretty far as long as the pre-flashes hit the flash sensor.
my next camera purchases:
$1700 70-200VR (thank you carin and RTTPers)
$300 a new SB-800 (so that I have 3 of them)
some clamps with a flash mounting screw so I can hang flashes on house lighting at places like roman's, the dover brick house, and as220.
$??? that SU-800 unit (if it works well)
$400 1.7/1.4/2.0 teleconverter for the 70-200VR (making it a 140-400 f/4.8)
