i think he's saying i bolted like a minute after Exhumed was done...i debated leaving after filling up the CF card in my camera while Exhumed was on, just a fuckin long ass day/night. I stuck it out but vanished after they were done. i'm still way more tired than i was last week after getting in @ 4AM and working an hour away at 8.

great fucking show, thanks to all who came out. we got a live recording, I haven't heard it yet but the other guys said the sound quality is awesome. there's a good chance southern lord will release this for a live grief cd. |

hellblock6 : they played awesome. the set was similar to last night. They sounded echoy at first, especially on the side of the stage, but after a few songs, they were rocking it. The crowd response was really good to. I definitely know it was more people than their other shows here. After that girl guitar player thread, I pay particular attention to the bassplaying which is right there out front.
sin of angels: this is my first time seeing them play with the new line-up. dave has basically taken over completely as lead. His vocals and playing sound even more like neurosis,khanate,ocean than greg's. This makes the band a lot less bassy and lost more raw sounding. Greg has that grover (from sesame st) stoner sound to his vocals and playing. A touch of soundern rock in it. They play the same songs, but they sound closer to neurosis than stoner. |

grief: this is my..um.. 3? Time seeing them and my third all new line up. I'm all for mixing it upam but geez! I think they are just trying to keep it interesting, maybe. They played a bunch for songs with john (abhorred). He sounded excellent as he is mr. Jack of all trades. They ended with a saint vitus track to. |

show was great..exhumed was awsome i always like seeing them. one band i wish played is abhorred because i have been listening to that cd alot latley. |

i had a great time at this show, only caught Grief and Exhumed unfortunately but those bands alone were worth the $12. Grief have a disgustingly heavy live sound and multi-talented Abhorred drummer John surprised me with guitar playing abilities. |

Hellblock 6 - played great, i was impressed by them, i hope they play up here again sometime.
Sin of Angels - fantastic as usual, I was bummed the CD wasn't finished.
Grief - outstanding, again. something about Grief live is incredibly purifying. World of Hurt was great, I hate the Human Race was killer too, John sounded mint on the vox.
Exhumed - delivered once again, consistantly one of the best live bands I've continued to see for sometime now. Seemed like they played a bit brief, woulda like to hear limb from limb or deadest of the dead. trapped under ice was fucking sick!!

I was surprised at the turn out too. you would think that people would have better things to do on a rainy tuesday that go to another not comon monopoly show.
exhumed: this is the like the 4230823 line up I've seen with them. every single time, it's matt with some other people around him. leon's been there with him on tour for a while so he's almost a fixture of the band. he looked like he was going to boot for most of their set. the new drummer was pretty good. I didn't really focus on him though. the new guitar player is the guitar player from the now defunct band known as Uphill Battle (you may remember three tours ago that the drummer from Uphill Battle ruled the drums for exhumed). he fit in pretty well,sporting the standard issue "gore" guitar. I can see him possibly staying with exhumed. This line up is definitely a more subdued set than all the others. there are no drum solo. no puke. no fire. no bloody skulls. If you want that stuff, I guess you have to go see impaled. their set did rule, but it was from the music and their playing abilities, not from the showmanship out side of that. their set was like 30 minutes long. I was hoping for some more of the tracks off platters of splatter, but I guess that was probably the lst tour. |
