I saw a band play the Mio once and the sleeve for their demo cd was a burger king napkin with their logo drawn on it.

the failsafe device hand painting each CD cover?
or
the band that collected 1000's of AOL cds to put their cds in.

I don't know what this was supposed to accomplish, but our bassist from an old band of mine went out and bought a box of tampons at one of our shows. He started writing the band's name on them and handed them out to people at the show. This might sound strange if you've never met Jake Doyle.

hahaha jake doyle. classic. amazing.

had a show in the parking lot of donut shop down in CT.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 17,2004 2:13am
what about when a tears of avarel show ended up being a 18+ show so they refused to play with some other bands. they set up in a shopping plaza parking lot and just started playing.
too bad I missed that show

I knew this one kid who's band played the Rat and they took the subway to the show. With all of their equipment. I mean ALL of it.

Upsidedown Cross made Upsidedown Cross potato chips once. They took several bags of chips and drew an upsidedown cross on each one.

haha, i think Jim Ash told me about that once. The funny part was the way Jim told it.... "I knew these kids who.....well they're not so much kids now, they're probably in their 40's"

OK, where's a time machine and and a lear jet, I would've LOVED to have seen that!

GRIEF

if you had a time mahcine, why would you need a lear jet?

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Dec 17,2004 1:25pm
I stand ably corrected

toggletoggle post by SuperFly at Dec 17,2004 1:26pm
yeah it was pretty cool. we played with EXTREME NOISE TERROR & DAMAD. that was in the summer of '95. I also wish I has a time machine, there are a lot of shows from the past that I would have liked to have seen.

I pissed in a girls vagina once....during sex.

I would've seen 1982 Venom, Sabbath when they were Earth, and Hell Awaits era Slayer. The list goes on I'm sure, but when can see where I'm goin' with those first few.

If your time machine is in massachusetts and you went back in time, you'd still be in massachusetts.

I would go back and see:
Venom/Metallica 1983
Venom/Slayer 1985
Repulsion 1986
Death 1985 when they were in San Francisco
Carnivore 1987
Jimi Hendrix Experience 1970
Black Sabbath mid 70's
Napalm Death 1988
a shitload of hardcore shows 1983 (although back then I'd probably get my ass kicked for having long hair)
Sex Pistols 1977
Ozzy/Motorhead 1981
Kiss/Judas Priest 1979
Led Zeppelin/Judas Priest 1977

I saw Michael Jackson on the Smooth Criminal tour, so I have no need for a wish list.

Most DIY thing I've ever seen...

The mic stand that Blue made for the show on the 11th up here at FPC, he made a mic stand out of a broom stick and the tripod end of a guitar stand...and masking tape. Not even duct tape. Fucking masking tape. It wouldn't even stand upright...we had to tape it to the floor. The other guitarist in my band was ripshit he couldn't sing and play at the same time. I pretended to actually care too.

Impaled Northern Moonforest shirts were made from regular Hanes white t-shirts with black magic marker

Another Upsidedown Cross one:
The covers for the Witchcraft 10" were made from albums they found in the trash and they painted over them.

1) Zeppelin toured with Judas Priest?? That's very awesome.
2) Didn't Hendrix die in '69? I'm probably wrong, but I thought he died near the end of 1969.

toggletoggle post by retzam at Dec 17,2004 2:48pm
Acts I would go back and see:

Woodstock of course
Zeppelin in '69
Zeppelin in '71
Zeppelin in '75
Grateful Dead in '75
Jethro Tull in the late 60s, early 70s
The Beatles at one of those shows where you couldn't hear them
The Beatles rooftop show
Heart in the late 70s
Metallica on the Ride The Lightning tour
Iron Maiden on the Killers tour
Iron Maiden on the Number Of The Beast tour
Iron Maiden on the Powerslave tour
Morbid Angel in '91
Death anytime ever

If I had access to a time machine I'd go back to like 8 years ago when Eastcide got beat up at the Palladium.

toggletoggle post by Rich Horror NLI at Dec 17,2004 3:00pm
I remember when Eastcide was on that show with that fat cunt Matt Pinfield and that girl I really want to fuck. Holy shit, I used to ruin her face every night alone in my bedroom with tears streaming down my face.

my old band made shirts from hanes tshirts too

we also made videos and sold them except that the only editing was me just rewinding the camera and taping over parts we didnt like
we actually sold a good amount

my old guitarist danny didnt know where to put his gum when we were about to play so he stuck it to his pants, which then ended up on my couch later that night
