I'm guessing Revengeance is no longer on 665? Why am I always the last to find out?

I don't know, I'm pretty out of the loop too...hahaha.

Nice! Would love to play another show with you guys sometime soon!

Though the vocal direction is a little dissapointing considering Revengeance was hailed as what was supposed to be the area's "other" powermetal band when the band formed, the music is really good and this is probably Bassil's best sounding production to date. The lead guitars in particular sound great. It is kind of like Powerglove with blackened death vocals.

The vocals in REVENGEANCE are great.

The reason that I don't like RAVAGE are their vocals.

toggletoggle post by i_am_not_me   at Aug 1,2005 10:46pm edited Aug 1,2005 10:48pm
Al Ravage is only the second person I've heard negatively comment on the vocals, and the first was Canadian and thus doesn't count as a person.

But please, re-seal that can of worms. I don't want a simple song-promotion thread turning into a harsh vs. clean vocal debate/argument/goatse-pic-posting contest. Nick kicks ass, Al Ravage kicks ass, let's leave it at that. </Jerry Springer final thought>

I like the guitar work on these songs a LOT but I think the drum lines could be better. Basil is a better drummer than that.

As you can see from my comments, I was not criticizing the vocals stylistically...I merely stated that I found it dissapointing that Revengeance..which was supposed to be a power metal band...ended up going melodic deathmetal...and that isn't because the vocals are bad per se...it is because there are almost no metal bands in this scene with melodic vocals and it would have been a nice change of pace to have one or two more such bands. Whether or not you think my vocals are shitty isn't really the point I'm making, it is more that... the scene could stand one or two more melodic bands, and that, as of yet isn't happening...unless you count Iron Will

www.myspace.com/ironwillrise

and IRON WILL RISE!!!

I think bassil's drumming is actually quite impressive on these tracks.

toggletoggle post by i_am_not_me   at Aug 11,2005 4:44am
Yeah, I personally wanted more melodic vocals at first, but I'm satisfied with Nick's vocals.

I love powermetal and I still can't stand Ravage's vocals, especially live. ugh.
