New site? Maybe some day.
how much is it, anyone know? |
thanks, thats wicked cheap, i went to see goat island, at the living room last night and that was friggen $12....i dont get it, i mean they werent bad, but $12 for a basically local show, even though pelican played. there were like 15 people there |
I'm basically leaving in 5 minutes for this |
this won't be as good as last night at the Station in Portland. |
Someone go to this and tell FASSW mOe said "hey, nigga!" |
will do.
I'm walking up to the pallaium now.
wade, what made the show lastnight so good? |
FASSW was so sick. i saw this show in portland. i didnt feel the need to go all the down there for the same show. |
from a second story window: it was odd that they were opening, but what ev'. the played sick, but they were missing their number one fan to steal the microphone. the new track "greenfields" they play was really good, but the middle had some talk/clean singing. I'm really curious to hear what that sounds like cause it's "unexplored waters" for them. by the end of their set, I was soaked. |
moe, message delivered. during fassw, I was elbowing kids in the head accidentally. |
acacia strain, the: I was in the back and heard them start up. they were so fucking loud. I commented to some one "is this bury you dead?" that was actually a serious comment. they reminded me of BYD back in 2000/2001 when they were that loud in side KOC. TAS is recording a new CD and played 2 new songs. only one of which I've heard before. my flashes were messing up so I didn't get as many pictures of them. |
between the buried and me: they played most of their recent stanard, including the new song alaska. plus, they busted out a track off the first CD. unnfortunately, it wasn't aspirations. they also played another new one from the CD, alaska, which is out Sept 6. their set was extraly sweaty. they ended with a slow track from the last CD, mordecai. |

i was going to go to this but a)i was tired b)i hate the palladium and the people there |
cant wait to see the pics |

I saw that and chuckled. |
this show was a bit of a dissapointment, honestly i think that the upstairs has the worst sound of any club around here, fassw was good, basically no guitars in the mix though, acacia strain i love on cd but live they basically suck, it just doesnt sound the same, btbam was amazing they actually played two from the first cd, the first and last track, i actually think they did 2 from each cd including the new one...the new song they did was VERY progressive, very little grindcore going on, lots of clean parts, guitar solos, basically sounded like heavier dream theater, red chord was as good as always but they had some tech problems...by the way what happened to the days when red chord shows were basically a health hazard to go to because they were so crazy, this was a bit tame. overall good show, BAD fuckin sound. |

well, honestly, i missed most of FASSW's set but I did see their vocalist hanging from the sprinkler pipe(s) during the last song...haha, then got to see the promoter bitching 'em out for it...they seemed amused by that. aside form that, it was just a good show. if it was upstairs at the Palladium, I'm sure it was comparable. Shooting at the Station is weird now.
it was one notch below seeing an ICC show in august while wearing a starter jacket (trmpwise) |
someone just beeped the horn outside like you would... |
yeah i was sweating like a retard locked in an outhouse last night. |
was your lens steaning up? i only run into that upstairs and at the ICC. |
it was border line.
pictures uploadin |
you do mean the one that was a couple of years ago, right? |
i really wish i hadnt worked so late, i really wanted to be there. |
the 2nd to last song BTBAM played was unreal! it was new and like all jazzy and shit. |
a couple friends and i drove all the way to the palladium from maine and it was sold out when we got there |

I stand by my position of having been there...that was the first I had heard of BTBAM though, I didn't even know what to think of them when I saw them. at the time looked like a bunch of hippies jumping from death metal to atmospheric stuff to high notes (the did play aspirations that night, and I didn't get to realize how cool that was).
and red chord, I was thrown up on stage because being in the general vicinity of the stage meant that you were going up during dreaming in dog years.
now THAT was a good time. |
im kind of upset I missed this..
I haven't seen the red chord in a long time or btbam for that fact |
I wanted to go to this, well mainly I wanted to hear BTBAM play Mordecai live. I love that song, even though it gets so clean at the end - its just so powerful and he has a really really good voice. But I wasnt going to pay for a whole show to hear that one song. |
not a personal shot at you, but I'm tired of people just loving mordecai out of this band...I like the song, but it's not their best. More of Myself to Kill is by far their best song to date, for me. But there are so many people who only know Mordecai, and that makes me sad. |
aspirations will always be their bestest song. |
the_reverend said: aspirations will always be their bestest song. |
that's their most fun song...I'm talking best. and for me, it's not about fun. Fun, the top priority, never! must be snobby. |
dude i told you portland would have been better becasue the station was not sold out at all and now that the stage is raised it is so much better |

I believe that the palladium 1/31/2003 was the last time they did that song |
I only know the Silent Circus, and Mordecai is just my favorite. Maybe im gay or something? |
get the life force CD before that.
red chord, the: I guess there have been peple leaving after BTBAM's set. this time, it didn't look like any one AT ALL left. which rocked cause the energy coming from the crowd totally makes it on this stage. it was sohot during their set that I couldn't believe it. this was kevin's last show and was sort of like "Every other" TRC show in this area. they played, the crowd rushed the stage, the end. well, not really. it was 143012384092384 degrees in there. I had a hard time up against the ceiling, holding on to my cameras. I bet it was horrid in the crowd. the crowd did seem a little subdued cuase of the temp. I think if it had been 50 degrees colder the crowd would have been more into the mosh. |

yes. the self titled puts silent circus to shame. once you hear it, half the stuff of silent circus will just sound like filler to you. |
just to brag a little bit, ive seen btbam and red chord play together 3 times now (not including metalfests)...the show on tues, the show with misery signals and premonitions of war at the palladium, and the one in fall river with deadwater drowning, alexisonfire, and in dire need. damn that was a good show. |
and now after a little research and a trip back to memory lane...i realize that the rev was also at both of these shows...holy shit i wish i knew then that it would never be like this again. why is it that now that these bands have gained some popularity and are on major metal/hc labels (metalblade and victory) there are way less people at the shows, and a lot less chaos...i guess massachusetts loves their underground, fuckin awesome. |

Yeah me and Blue were at that fall river show. some band was throwin dead fish around. |
it was one of their 400 "last show ever" deals, right? |
that one lasted for 4 months though |
i am SO mad i missed this show...i can't believe i missed the FASSW.... |
