toggletoggle post by thedeparted   at Jul 17,2005 2:00am
rev whatd you think of our mp3?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 17,2005 2:06am
well, I only caught 2 bands. they were running fast and all... damn it...
anyhow, the show looked really well attended.

circle of dead children: so, CODC proves me and showed up to the show. that ruled. they played a ton of songs. plenty off the two that I have (human harvest and genocide machine). It sucked for the first song cause the mic wasn't working, but after that, they tossed him a working mic and it was all good.

phobia: I completely forgot what this band looked like. all I remembered was dreads. they sounded really good and played to a bunch of smelly punks. the bouncers got in to the pit for a while, concerned with the circle pit. I hope they can handle the mosh during unearthly trance tomorrow.

the best thing is saying punk-kids leave the show and then look in the garbage cans outside for stuff, turning around to beg for money.

sounds like a decent time

I have no idea how we ended up being more then 1 hour ahead of schedule, we started late and nobody got cut off or anything that I am aware of.

Phobia was scheduled to play at 11:30 and went on around 10:15 or something. They played amazing, and from what I understand, they are going to use the Doom Fest video footage on their DVD.

The good news is, for the stupid bastards who skipped coming to the fest, every band on it wants to play Boston again, even Continued Without A Finding and Sin of Angels.

All the bands ruled, I got there at two and didn't know anyone until Adolf showed up? Who are all you people? Anywhoo. I like pancakes on my face.
Phobia (CA) Rad dudes, totally slayed the show so fast maybe played like 30 songs. Ultimate one man guitar shredding., Circle of Dead Children I guess it's like Converge as a grind band? I knew the drummer he used to be in Sadis Euphoria (PA) , Kill the Client Loved it tuned down fast Hardcore grind from TX so that had that southern attitude (TX) , Drogheda Smoke machine was fun totally fast ass shredding that blew me away (OH), Adolf Satan Monster fucking riffs as usual, Josh smoked crack or coke and went on stage shirtless. Good crowd response, (MA) , Biolich The guitarist is a fucking coksmoker, one of those kids that like if you have stuff in a corner he puts all his crap on top if yours and then stands in your way just to be a fucking dink. The singer jumped out in the crowd, The other three members were cool but whatever they were like a bad rip off of General Surgery, The Explosion would have been better in their slot,(NY) , Abhorred Great live show probably the best of the day, remind me of Exhumed? (MA), Continued without A Finding Dude, flawless live set, need to see them again, I think they should have played one more song they sounded the best of all bands all day (MA), Sin of Angels rad dudes playing sludgy stuff ala Warhorse/Crowbar another short set I'm a new fan of this band (RI) , Hirudinea None of these guys have cell phones, yeah right. They showed up late and then bullied everybody haha! If this was the way the rest of the fest was gonna be Jojo would have been my new drinking buddy
They ruled, because of time the singer didnt play guitar and they sounded awesome with power vocals like Pig Destroyer.(MA).
On to day two today I need money that place is fucking expensive. Introduce yourselves I'm the fag w/ the video camera.

Got there around 2, no one was really there. Took forever to get the backline figured out but it was pie once that was settled. Smoked with Phobia early. Hirudenia slayed, again. They sounded awesome on the system. Sin of Angels was great, another band I'm making a point to see more often these days. CWAF was phenomnial, I was in the backstage room warming up, but they sounded awesome just through the monitors. Abhorred setlist - the bile of all humanity/forever war/wallowing in utter chaos/bearer of guilt/matyr brigade/obliteration of the self/race riots/corporation pull in.
missed boilich and adolf satan, I got pizza from that place, then proceeded to throw it up behind the middle east in a near meditive fashion, which seemingly fucked me up for the rest of the night. Drogheda was fucking awesome, i'm gonna try to buy their disc today, I missed a little bit of their set cause I lost my wallet in the pizza place and a family from LA found it, i stopped for 10 minutes or so and told them nice places to visit in new england. kill the cliet was intense, one of the most in yer face bands i've ever seen live, one of the most well-rounded bands that played. codc totally destroyed. well worth the wait! played just about an equal amount of material from their albums, i think, great sound, great enery, great response. phobia was awesome, it was great to see people comming alive for them after the long day. i've liked these dudes alot for a few years, i'm gonna hafta pick up their new one soon!
wow, i'm fucking ruined in those random shots. pathetic.

Im a huge new fan of Kill the Client, thats all i have to say at this time!

toggletoggle post by shatteredliz   at Jul 17,2005 1:32pm
What a great time. I was really tired so I wasn't sure how I was goign to handle all the hours of metal, but it was perfect! Great bands, not lots of lag time in-between, and it ended nice and early so I could go home and be a wuss and go to bed!

Thank you Joe! I'm psyched for day two!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jul 17,2005 1:35pm
I took a hilarious picture of liz, but she made me delete it.

toggletoggle post by BornSoVile   at Jul 17,2005 1:38pm
Yeah, I remember dood!
That's another pathetic attempt of being trying to be James Dean, I'll do again though, watch.

toggletoggle post by duff138 at Jul 17,2005 1:52pm
hopefully it runs ahead of time today too. I know Grief will play till they unplug their amps, so the more time they get the better.

toggletoggle post by duff138 at Jul 17,2005 1:53pm
BornSoVile,

exellent bass playing man. I thought you guys were excellent

toggletoggle post by BornSoVile   at Jul 17,2005 1:57pm

CODC like Converge as a grind band? Say what? The only thing those guys have in common with Converge is tattoos and a good live show. Sound is absolutely nothing like them at all. CODC crush Converge.
Kill The Client reeked of Phobia influence I thought, and they raged like hell, nearly as well as Phobia. So good. And the singer making fun of kids in white belts and girl pants was great too.

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Jul 18,2005 4:24pm
And DURAN DURAN haircuts, hahaha.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Jul 19,2005 10:38am
kill the client indeed reeks of Phobia influence becasue phobia is by far one of our favorite bands. Thank you to everyone that checked out the set. it was insane haha .. Made the 27 hour drive home easier.

Sorry if our guitarist was a jerk to you at all, though I highly doubt he'd stand in your way for the hell of it, he's kind of absent-minded so I'll apologize for him. I don't really see how we sound anything like General Surgery, but thanks I guess?

i had just as much fun saturday as i did on sunday, lots of real fast heavy shit!
also, i thought it was hysterical that the guys from drogheda let me and this dude steve get on stage (both drunk as fuck) and do the vocals for their cover of Minor Threat's song "Straight Edge"
